I like the name Whiskey! Never thought of alcohol names. Like sex on the beach eheheheThe chocolate one looks much like Whiskey did as a chick....down color, no other comparisons meant...View attachment 3247310
I hope the horses didn't hear that!Hugs: I feel your pain, too many falls off too many crazy horses and too much heavy work in my case - have you tried pregabalin for pain? Though for me it makes me a zombie. I would rather the pain.
Getting old is not for the faint of heart, and neither is having a chronic illness/condition.
Ya know if I had known how much fun the chickens were, I would have got rid of the horses years ago!!!

What I have found helps is, if you have time, pick him up and hold him gently, talk softly, but don't pet/stroke, etc. I cluck softly to mine (and the hens will eventually cluck back - when they do, they have settled down!). Anyways, I will have a treat in my other hand, within reach. Talk softly or cluck softly, but don't move at all (I sit on an upturned bucket, but anything - standing, sitting, etc.) and wait and let him start eating the treat from your hand. Tell him he is a good boy and set him down slowly and gently. He will be begin to associate holding with treats and soon he will settle as soon as you pick him up....and gradually you can start petting him. Start with crop and/or lower back....not head......eventually you can - over time- move to wattles ( I crook my finger so it is parallel to floor and use finger to 'rub' chin...which rubs wattles, by default.I am trying to desensitize him with handling him. It’s easy to sneak up on him and pick him up. What with that mop of his!
But I don’t want him leary of me, and always on guard when I am around. That’s not what I want.

Wow, Alexander the Great had COVID???Well, isn’t this friggin wonderful. Alexander has Covid. I’m not too happy about it either. I’m testing it again. But science is science!
And now I have a headache from this!!
I didn't think it was a thing back thenHe's got almost every shade of the stuff, and a crown shaped (with the red center) comb to go with it.I like the name Whiskey! Never thought of alcohol names. Like sex on the beach ehehehe
Not for nothing. They should prevent you from getting very seriously sick.My test results say that I have contracted Covid. I will be testing myself again tomorrow to be sure. (All those vaccinations for nothing!)
