I have a HUGE hornet colony up under the soffit of the house eves! Thousands of them!

There is no way for me to get at it other than taking down the soffits one NIGHT. And hoping for the best! Who knows how far into the house ceiling / roof that are, it’s a clear span cathedral ceiling so no attic space to access.

Then there is those two at the barn! Or rather three! Fluffy was digging around near the one in the barn cement brick wall last night I raced over and snatched her up in case the hornets attacked her. Do chickens eat hornets?

Chickens leave honeybees alone. I suspect they leave pollinators alone.

Unless it’s -35 and your remote office sewer uplift tank needs a repair!!! Then it’s brittle as anything!

All joking aside, it can’t be fun having sensitivity to items you can’t escape from

Like food allergies, you learn to work around it. Those allergic to dairy, soy, or corn (not to mention gluten) have some serious work around to deal with too (corn syrup, soy lethecin, sodium casienate aren't always labeled clearly).

Re: gorilla tape, agreed. The stuff is awesome. I do have to give major kudos to the company, Wranglers, Bounce, and Co-flex. All 4 companies actually got me answers on what was in stuff. Wranglers even had to call overseas to a manufacturing site to get an answer. I've contacted a number of other companies and gotten no response or, "we have no record of a purchase made from this email so we can't help you" (Duh! I haven't made ANY purchases yet. I need to know if I can use your products BEFORE I purchase, but with this kind of customer service I don't WANT to do business with you)


Kudos to the above mentioned companies for FANTASTIC customer service tax

I just realized that the new King Charles, looks quite similar to that of my dad’s picture during WW2. What an honor the royal family has, to be rated close to my family impression on this earth! No picture of my dad (in honor of his memory, served on the battleship Indianapolis)

Yes, N95 should help quite a bit, but too bad @rural mouse is allergic to them.

And Yes I remember all these masking rule inconsistency very well too. CDC is not trustworthy on Covid stuff. They are also not for the backyard chicken movement.

Someone at the CDC thinks Back Yard Chickens are the biggest health risk outside of Covid. It is insane the number of alerts they release on the danger of Back Yard Chickens.

In my experience chickens do not eat bees.

If I were you I would hire someone to remove the bees without taking the house apart.

My husband is currently rebuilding a outbuilding that was on our property when we bought the house and turning it into a 16x8 coop. We have run into soooo many hornet and yellow jacket nests. He has been stung twice my 5 yr old once. The colonies are shockingly large. He hit the 5th one yesterday. I definitely feel your pain!

That is scary. That's a lot of bees!
