Congratulations to all who did today's mugs. They are particularly outstanding .

I promised I would try, so I used the camera today for the mugs. Unfortunately, I hurt my right hand, so, higher resolution didn't compensate taking left handed photos .

4 ex-batt - hope this can be considered a mug, Nougat, Blanche, Brune and Cannelle.

I have to point out it is neither safe, nor smart to climb to the top of the hay pile like I just did. What did I find, 8 eggs, yes 8. Squirrel, Holly and both of the red girls have it out for me. Unfortunately I have no way to block them from getting on top to lay. I am going to have to have dad help me rearrange the stack so I do not have to climb as high. Chiquita also has rejoined the group of layers. Thankfully since her favorite spot was occupied she chose a porch box instead of some evil hard to reach spot.

Be careful! I know how sketchy those bales can be to climb up

Kinda sad day for the homeless people in town. Funding for a new housing building was denied by the government’s assistance plan. Now the motel is empty, and vacant. The occupants forced to leave the premises. Some things are just sad ! Treating people like stray animals isn’t right!

At least I have been nice to that troublesome neighbor. He had attempted to break into my house while I was gone (and was caught by the sheriff) now he’s enjoying a nice jail cell with room and board. Awaiting trial for several counts of contempt of court. Breaking and entering. And other charges I’m prosecuting him for the fullest extent of the law on charges. Law enforcement is using everything that they can protect me with. (Aren’t I a nice guy?)

Glad to have you back on the site you were missed.

Never say never, I did not count on my barn yard mix mutts being the broody bunch, only the silkies! But they are as bad as the Silkies! Haha

You know, I just had a scary thought. My Marans are chronic broodies. Chiquita lived up to the hype of a angry broody silkie after she settled in which I love. I look at little Goose and waves of fear pass through me. What was I thinking with a Marans x Silkie cross, at least the cross from my crew. Broody x Broody is surely going to equal monster in about a year.

Goose is soooooo cute I like the wee ones they are very darling.

I generally dont have evil meanies when they are broody; a couple a pecks but no one is truly vicious when checking for eggs etc.
