She has taught Bernadette who won’t let me touch her but will hop up on to my table to peck at my sleeve.
I think it may be the weird mottled pattern of my fleece jacket that gets her going.

But those look like inquisitive pecks....not like Dotty's "I'll kick you're butt if you don't tow the line' pecks!

Bernie makes me thing of my Geese...just like toddlers...they have to 'mouth' EVERYTHING to check it out...but not in a 'kill it' kind of way, more like a 'hmmm, what is this? kind of way!

I just dont post on it anymore. I am going to start a new thread soon with my new flock of Welsummers. We moved last January and have been nonstop working to get the new property up to speed. things are slowing down a bit so I have more time now.

Funny you should ask that. That photo made me think of the bad boys that girls go nuts for...only it is the female equivalent (with Betty) meanwhile Phyllis is the aloof femfetale that all the boys go gaga over! They are quite the pair - opposites, yet somehow they seem to be good friends & make it work!!!

I did a butternut squash and Applejack party to watch a lunar eclipse a few years ago. There was total cloud cover so we missed the eclipse but being huddled up under fleece blankets with Applejack and soup made for a good event anyway.

It is wonderful to be out in the cold. Invigorating.
