Yesterday i got a small pumpkin for the ladies, put it in the oven, and forgot about it. Its perfectly roasted, smelled amazing, opps. Set it outside when i left for work and it was untouched when i got home. I peeled a bunch of skin away and sprinkled it with seeds and still wouldn't touch it. Oh well the possums will probably enjoy it.

Rosie has hurt her foot i think. She was holding it up and limp/hopping tonight i wrapped her up and made her soak it for a bit. Hopefully it gets better soon.

Oh no, I hope she is ok poor sweetie.

My gals went wild for the pumpkin! I was surprised because it sat in the barn a couple days and they didn’t touch it, but as soon as I started cutting off bits for them they figured they liked it haha!

We had chicken corn, New England clam chowder, minestrone, chicken rice and mushrooms, soups. Fresh hot bread with all the fixings on the deck.

The we moved to the yard for the fire where we had Cherry and pumpkin pie, hot mulled wine, Angels Envy bourbon, Balvenie Double Casked and Macallan scotches while listening to Spooky radio dramas. View attachment 3306287

A great time was had by all, except the chickens who were upset that the party started after dark. No begging snacks tonight.

Glad I took Jaffar inside. Seems his COPD is still hurting him. I understand that, because I do suffer from that some days too. But he’s breathing thru his nostrils (took me five hours to clear those for him) No good rooster should suffer from breathing problems. I’m glad he trusts me, and I trust him too!

What a lovely tradition you have! Glad to hear it went well and the soups sound delicious yumm! Sounds like a wonderful way to spend time with friends.
