Chickens………… Complete… Me! I don’t hurt them. I give them their every desire. Some people go bowling , I go dust bathing with my chickens. Some people eat chickens, I ask my chickens what do they want for dinner! They don’t get leftovers, they get the same as me. (Usually first) yes it’s true that whatever I do, I still get on. But with birds that comes naturally (Kinda like Xwives do)
I was told by my human friends, that chickens die, that’s what they do! Also told me that a chicken laying on my lap, chest, or legs, won’t on me. Yes that’s also true. What’s not true, is that I will eventually recover from the loss of a good rooster or hen. I have NEVER recovered from the loss of my animals, any of them! I’m about ready to give up this madness!
None of my chicken friends smoke cigarettes! Wear hats or rich bling. (Only exception was BEN’s silver thimbles covering his trimmed spurs.

Don't worry, i'm the first to make fun of french people. As far as I'm concerned the country where I was born is just a geographical place on the map. I belong to human kind (and not always proud of it!).

I'm afraid @ChicoryBlue is right though - parisiennes don't wear berets, it's mostly a male thing from a generation born before 1960 (though they do make every now and then a come-back as a short lived hipster trend). Interestingly enough one of the symbol of the french republic is a rooster- le coq gaulois !

Sydney should aim at something like this :

Well, if we had not got help from the "rosbif" and the US the collaborationist gouvernement would have endured. And if some people resisted, others did horrible things. I'll stop there, it could get borderline political .

Brune isn't well this morning. Either I didn't take all the egg out yesterday or she's having consecutive laying difficulties. I gave her a warm bath and failed at getting some calcium in her. She's inside the house in the pet carrier with a hot water bag.

I’ve been getting help. Sheathing this isn’t a one woman job, at least for me at my age and fitness levels. I actually thought my helpers had packed it in for the year and started this on my own. I royally messed it up which is why it’s so patchy. I was hoping for sheathed by American Thanksgiving, but I have promised not to start the other side. We’ve also secured a woodstove to start with, so now it’s just pushing to get it watertight before the really nasty weather comes in. We have had two fairly nasty storms with up to 90kph winds and heavy rainfalls. There was even one night of the icky white stuff falling from the sky. View attachment 3319947
Not so helpful helpers… our only significantly venomous creatures and they are all through our piles. Have I mentioned how I’m working on my arachnophobia? I’ve also been filling the perimeter drain with gravel, one wheelbarrow full at a time down the road, and have been moving football sized rocks to create a temporary retaining wall for the drain rock. Apparently Black Widows like the rocks too. They are very pretty spiders though.
