I want to say something. After I retired from the US Marshall service I did a biography of my life but never shared it with you my friends. Back in 1977 I actually worked for Knotts Berry Farm food service. Steve Martin (comedian) met me. Then his career took off sky high. He was working at Disneyland magic shop. I always wanted to work for Disney too eventually. So I did. 10 years of being cast member of Resort engineering. (All us pilots are engineers) my memories of this time of life will never be forgotten. I raised 3 beautiful children during the time. Now retired, I have 8 feathered children to care for.
Sounds like fond memories ❤️ Sounds to me like a life with enjoyment.

“It is a wise father that knows his own child.” (Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice).

Haven’t heard that one before!

But a Shakespeare quote might suffice

“There are few die well that die in a battle.” (Henry V).
Kelly, what’s your point? Do you want me dead ☠️? “This is not the end. This is not the beginning of the end. But perhaps it is the end of the beginning “! Winston Churchill

Hello everyone. Just dropping in to say Brune is doing better today. This morning there was a tiny piece of soft eggshell under where she slept. I think that was what was left of the egg bothering her, because she was acting normal today, whereas she seemed really unwell yesterday evening. She even laid a normal egg.
I wonder if I didn't push the soft shell further in when trying to get it out. Can that happen ?

I hope everyone has a nice pony Sunday, no photo to share, but I'm thinking of Chaco 💚.

We're taking our hives down tonight. They spend winter at a lower altitude closer to the sea. That will be a four hours drive back and forth as we have to pick hives from different places😕. Hopefully we find some pizza truck open down near the city. I haven't had pizza that I didn't bake for six months I think 🤣.

Safe driving! Let us know when you are safely done! And hope you get some pizza! 🥰

Haven't posted much over the last few days. Between work and keeping everyone warm, haven't extra time. As of this morning, the chickens are getting VERY vocal. They're none too happy about staying in the coop. I've been opening the hatch for them before going to work, but based upon the lack of bird tracks, they haven't been venturing forth. Temps have ranged from just below 0F (-17 to -20c range) to upper 20sF (maybe -2C). Feathers are coming FAST, and it looks like no more are dropping beyond any that were already loosened. No bird pics, but some other interesting shots from the cold.

Friday had extra frost

No fluffy butts, however, "fluffy" twigs

And some beautiful skies

(It was pinker in reality, and facing west even though was sunrise)

And Saturday showed pinker skies to the west.

Hey, the fiddler on the roof slipped! And Humpty Dumpty was pushed! :tongue:hugs
Speaking of slipping and falling … everything is froze here with a skiff of ice, the wooden steps out of the house are extremely slippery - I pretty much took a header down them🥺

But the real fun was when Whiskers jumped up on the 1x6 plank I had leaning against the barn and like a pro snowboarder skied down the board and hopped off at the bottom !!! Hahahaha so wish I got that on video! That has got to be hard on wee feet though 😳
