Let's just say my dad could be a enabler and he does not even realize it. He got to talking about quail. Why when I loved my chickens so much was I not up in arms over building a enclosure and having a few quails. He has no clue what he has started. Quail have been on my mind for a good year now. I have just not pushed the issue that I need them. I think he want's quail and has put the idea in my head as he tried a few quail eggs a few weeks back at his brothers and loved them. I now have a new project for when I'm recouping from surgery next month. I shall pass my time researching everything I need to know about quail. I also already have the materials needed and the spot available for a small enclosure to house about 5 or 6.
The one thing I know about baby quail is that they are super fast. This will be fun to follow along to. :pop

I'm thinking 5 or 6 to see if quail work for me. I will not need a huge enclosure, but it will be bigger then what they would need if I wanted to add more. I hesitate because so far from what I've read they cannot be fully tamed. That worries me just a bit.
They cannot and again, they are super fast.

I am so terribly sorry. :hugs
Me too but such is life! I do so love my autopilot settings. I can catch up with BYC and I know that when I arrive home, I’ll have my eight chooks waiting for me. It’s a great feeling to be truly loved. (Ps. None of my chooks have ever asked me for money!)

This morning was about 33 F and yes, I did have Grandma go inside again. This time, if I walked away, she would start crying even though there was someone in the kitchen there with them. I had to keep telling Grandma, "Stop crying". She did this twice and eventually stopped. Right now is a mere 45 F and cloudy, but it's not snowy and it's not that rainy but there a few light drops, but I'm not outside right now. Also, should I stop making these weather posts? I don't want to be an obnoxion to certain people. I don't want people to say "No one cares about the weather in PA" and I really don't want that to happen so this is just an honest opinion to all of you.
Grandma sounds like such a character! It is kind of sweet that she didn't want you to leave the kitchen...she's obviously quite attached to you! While it may be annoying at times....remember, she squawks when you leave because she loves your company!🥰🥰🥰

I love it! I'll remember that. Grandma is a lot of fun to be around. Just like you are fun to be around at BYC!:D

We all talk about weather in some fashion or another and how it effects the chickens. You are fine.
