At the imaging center getting ct scans for my back

The would be Curly, she decided last night that the new stairs and missing side roost was just too different! So she hopped in her nest box - which I wish all the silkies would use!

It freaks me out when they roost so high up! Marty seems to be able to flap/crash down safely, Henny can flap pretty good - but Fluffy and Curly not so well.

I am not overly worried about the kiddies other than those silkies, I had my mum lift fluffy and old Penelope down. And I had to listen to mum huffing and grumbling this morning when doing the chickens, I became quite irritated with her because if she didn’t want to feed the darn chickens I would have asked my neighbour! And paid my neighbour rather than mum 😡

I don’t want anyone caring for my animals if they don’t want to, even where I keep the horses they are snippy! Have new ‘fees’ geez! I would think that getting $1600 every month for a couple ponies and 2 small horses that hardly eat anything would be my dream! They are also charging me for any grain my horses get so the only thing they have to buy is shavings for bedding (and they are very skimpy with that I tell you), they grow their own hay.

But due to this last minute situation I have to deal with it so nothing I can do 😢
The horse situation truly bothers me. When we took care of the barn and were boarding the horses board fee was 300 a month per horse. We bought the hay and grain unless they required a specialized diet. Stalls were always deeply bedded with sawdust and cleaned out twice a day. We had a couple that needed medications and specialized diets, owners bought that and left instructions on how and when to give them. We done that at no additional cost. One of the mares needed medications 3 times a day and would only take them if they were hidden in grain. Well, you cannot give just 1 horse a afternoon snack without the rest of the barn going nuts. We adjusted and everyone got a afternoon snack no big deal. One of the boarders was a teenager and her dad did not like her riding down there by herself. She always texted when she was on her way to the barn. I had no problem going down for a few hours in the late afternoons while she rode. Spent that time doing stall touch-ups and Rosie went with me. This was before we bought the horses. She actually taught Rosie to ride and since she always had 2 horses the 2 of them eventually started trail riding together. Personally, if something happened that I had to board mine out I think I would sell them instead. I do not think I could deal with not being able to ensure that they were cared for up to my standards.

I'm so happy for you. I know how long you have tried for those pretty blue eggs. She looks quite proud of herself as well.

Foxy has becoming the sweetest chicken. She is even too sweet to my husband to handle because she would kick off other chickens who dare jump on his lap. This is crazy considering she is low on the pecking order (a junior).

About two weeks ago, she started doing this hugging thing. It looks awkward but she'd be standing and hugging him for a good 5 minutes every day. She is the most incredible chicken.

YES!

All I want to do is hop on a horse for 30 and toodle down the road and back! And then not be up all night crying in pain🤨

I am sure you will find that once your healed you will be amazed at how life is with no discomfort 😊

I will have to make a trip down (to drop off Marty / Mr P eggs to you) so we can go for a toodle down the road 😊

EDIT

ooops tax due!

I really like this photo. It has the texture of cinematography: dark underground tunnel, waiting to talk to batman, something like that. Is that Misty?

The place they are at is a nice place but the way the fees were presented was irritating. I don’t mind paying for good care, and they do chores like I do so the horses like it there.

They are there now so that is that, I wish I could get some one in to work here but not possible.

Well the crazy mare got on the trailer, everyone is moved and the chickies are in bed early, I am going to gut the stalls and bed them for the chickies to dig in then finish storing stuff in the truck - since I don’t have to do evening chores I can just head to bed early.

More bedtime roosting drama
