Hello FBA! It's really interesting to hear about your winter adjustments. Here we got the first frost this morning and really hoping for some snow tomorrow. I realize snow and cold can be a pain when it lasts for months, but here it would now be the only thing that could refill the groundwater.

Sadly, I found the mare really going downhill. I hadn't seen her in two weeks. I hope she has a quick and painless ending now.

I have some new chicken drama going on : Piou-piou has turned into a jealous ruffian .
Yesterday I intercepted a huge fight between her and Léa. I didn't see who began the fight but Léa walked away and I got the impression Piou-piou was the aggressor. This was confirmed today, as I saw Piou-piou attack both Merle and Léa.
The thing is, Léa is much biger than Piou-piou and though she seemed to have lost the fight, she pecked her pretty bad. There was blood all over her face. When I cleaned it up yesterday and saw it was just a peck in the comb I was very relieved, but today I noticed it's not just a peck- she actually tore a piece of Piou-piou's comb off!
Piou-piou doesn't give a damn and never seemed to be in pain. She is afraid of no one. She reminds me of Chipie when she first arrived!

That’s funny. My husband is calling it a orodon wall.

I meant to say PRISON wall.

Is anyone else having issues with BYC on their phones the last few days? I’m having trouble doing edits, and the pages look all scrambled some of the time.

Manitoba Morning

Glorious sunrise this morning and m my rear view mirror unfortunately!

I stopped and took a phot for all to enjoy.

It’s -11C and windy (of course, it’s always windy I’m Manitoba). Right now I am at the Flying J truck stop on the west side of Winnipeg, using their wifi hahaha. A quick bathroom break then on to Brandon for lunch.

Thankfully the road is a proper highway with flat straight roadways haha!

Gave everybody a corn mix and dried BSF larvae, Peanut got hers on the perch. She really went for the corn first, which is unusual, she must really want the calories. I got an interesting picture, look at her tongue!
Behind a spoiler because she is really naked, her pins are barely coming out. She has a totally bare belly. Only her upper neck feathers cover what is s a bare neck. She lost her tail feathers last night.
