My Princesses are such creatures of habit.
1. Wake up. 2. Stretch. 3. Go downstairs and have a drink. 4. Go outside and eat some breakfast. 5. Go back inside to sit on the preening perch and make sure feathers are properly arranged.

I am guessing that big feather will not survive her attentions!

Interesting stories around the history of this, and going into the history of cockfighting. The longtime handlers for the USC games always used a Gamecock that had his comb removed as they do for cockfighting (called dubbing. Yes, I object. I think the comb is glorious and it's functional. I bet it hurts a lot to have it removed. The rooster is not cockfighting).

If I understand this right the old handlers retired; new handlers decided to use a rooster with comb intact, to help him with the intense SC heat they said (I hope they also thought about more humane reasons not to dub him). Old handlers have the trademark for the rooster's name and really want a dubbed rooster in the role and so made a stink about it. They eventually got the assignment back and yes they are using a "dubbed" rooster.

This is just awful. 🤬

Not that we can see.
I ripped a lot of the paper off yesterday and the wall underneath is pristine. It feels like either a wallpaper glue failure or that pristine wall is coated with teflon.
:idunno
Glue failure. I've seen it before. I no longer permit wall paper in my house.

Pony, don't say that. We all love you and we are not snubs. We can talk to you anytime we want (just not after 10 pm please). I know that being sick is absolutely horrible and holy chickens no one wants to be in a situation where they are sick and they have to do work. I'm loving Penelope and Dorothy. Tell them I said hi and feel better soon. Parmesan and Mozzarella were having a ball today. This weekend, I took them down to the front yard but today, they were impatiently waiting to go inside (no photo, sorry). And yes, those 2 cream colored cats came along. One tried to climb the tree at the front yard. I'll try to take photos of my chickens and the cat but it just gets cold and I am barely outside anymore so I have to give you photos from last year, the year before that and photos from yesterday up until a few weeks ago.
I hear you on the cold weather - brrrrr! At least yesterday it warmed up to -2C but it also snowed - double yuck! Cold and Snow!

I am still sick with whatever virus I have, and last night my nose was so stuffed up I went and used the nasal spray. Only problem was I didn't have my glasses on - and I didn't have the lights on. I ended up spraying my eye drops up my nose :lau

Oh boy! silly me! So I put on my glasses and the lights on and found the proper bottle and I have a clear nose after that :) hahaha!

Here are this morning's photos in the Hen House

I caught Mr P sleeping :)

Then a bit later they were all anxious to be set free in the barn for the day - mum showed up shortly after and they were all happily running around the barn.
