I mainly now use the pine stall pellets for cat litter and those are still pretty reasonable at TSC.
Sorry, I couldn't resist:

Pine Pellets @ TSC 1.5 years ago: $5.49
Pine Pellets @TSC today: $7.29

What is the percent increase (hint, you need to use the difference in prices)

32.8%

I’m all confused between play sand and construction sand or builders sand, and I think I’ve seen instructions / recommendations on BYC for using one and not the other in dust baths. Which do you think is best?
If I remember correctly, they think play sand is too fine. I will sweep some up off the side of the road and mix it in with dirt sometimes. I just wait until well into the spring when it has been 'well washed' by the rain. Sometimes the town gets to it first with the street sweeper, sometimes I do!

That’s great! Love it!

Merry Christmas! Enjoy your day! Hope it’s nice and warm there - it’s darn tootin cold here!
It’s not too bad today, about 27C (80.6F). Apparently it’s meant to get to 40-45C (104-113F) in the coming weeks. 🄵 Not sure how I’m going to keep the girls cool!

Merry Christmas to All

I want to catch all of our friends around the world as they wake up. I hope everyone's day is filled joy and happiness.
Happy Holidays to you and all your family too!!
Mother Nature drank too much eggnog and she is drunk. 13 right now with negative something wind chill. The wind will NOT stop blowing. Poor Raven is questioning her life choices at the moment chasing her unruly 5 hooligans who want to be out in the open digging in the snow. Every chance she gets she herds them in the horse stalls for the shelter. They stay there, for a few minutes then off they go again with her in hot pursuit.
Same, me and Raven chasing after kids that have more energy than sense!!

I have a mathematical question that has an answer to it:
How many strokes does it take to get a fake Barred Rock, (on your chest) to start purring? Answer: six or seven times, then she gets her motor running! :love
(Don’t try this at home, if your bird is molting!)

Those blue birds are preeeetyyyyyyy! I've been fascinated with them since I was maybe 4 years old.
They have a peacock pair and the hen regularly hatches out a brood every year! I would love to have some peacocks but it’s just not in the books for me.

When the male displayed his fan tail one day when I was bringing in Truly and she freaked! They rattle the feathers and do a jig and poor Truly was just freaked out by it hahahaha - it makes quite the noise when he does it!

Really would love to have some but the chickens are enough for mum when o am away.
