Assorted pics from breakfast this morning. I just took a tin of sardines out....23 chickens + 1 cat....

I also noticed a straggling tail feather on Twirp....who lost it by the time I got back out with the sardines.....looks like she's decided a mid winter moult is the thing...or has just kept it slooooowww

Cuckoo has fantastic camouflage...


And Horus chased Cheetah this morning. I'm not sure at this point if there's been a change in status or if Cheetah is simply: I don't feel comfortable so give me SPACE! (He was fending off a fair few of the girls too). I did see some dust bathing happening (no pics), 20F this morning, up to 34F when the treats happened.

Spring Treat

1 week after a low of 4°F it is like a spring day here today.

So they get a wonderful treat.

This was a decorative pumpkin that froze solid to my porch. I was able to scoop it up with a grain shovel and share it with the ladies today.

I decided to treat my chooks to some popcorn with me. Hades ate from my hand and Summer, Freya, and Dottie all warmed up in my lap and got pets and love.
