I just put my birds in and fed my chickens. I pet Bolt while she was eating, and I noticed her opening her mouth and making weird noises. I snatched her up. I am pretty sure she was choking ( can chickens choke?) I rubbed her throat with force, but making sure I was not hurting her. It only helped a little so I started gently squeezing her abdomen. I think I was squeezing her breast. It scared me, but I was talking to her to keep her calm. If she wasn't choking, what else could it have been? She got better when I squeezed her and rubbed her throat more.
What sort of noise? Is she still making it?

Oh thank gawd the electrics back. Locked the chooks up for the night.
Losing the power sucks! We have a generator so the furnace and water in the house works, and I can get water at the barn for the horses and chickens.

It's sad that they have to grow up - they are so cute as chicks
I thought that too. On my second batch of pullet chicks, I realized that they are cute and curious the whole time they are growing up. And then they become beautiful. And lay eggs.
