They're available at www.mcmurrayhatchery.com

They do have info on shipping to Canada. They also have a 90% accuracy guarantee on sexing chicks.
Have any of you received shipped chicks before? I would worry they wouldn't survive - you know how I bawl over the slightest thing...

I will check them out (another enabler I see!)

I just sat outside with the chooks. Zeus is bleeding on his wattle probably from a hen he tried to mate. I cant catch him to take care of it but he is staying away from the hens. Electric is still out and I have flashlights and candles going. Thank gawd its warm.

The fact that the pullets are willing to wallop him is a good one. He will be a better roo for it. Patching him up in the mean time.....vetricyn is helpful.

The black one with white dots? I think that is a Speckled Sussex
Speckled sussex are red with black bands and white feather tips. Just to confuse you, Bob's Lady F is a Jubilee orpington. Same feather markings, different body shape (because different breed)

2 Batches, only lost 1 chick right after arrival between the 2. Did lose another from failure to thrive at about 2 weeks. Otherwise no issues. However, shipping to Canada is more complicated. You have to pick up at US post office then take through customs...I think. Their website has info on it, so sounds like they've done quite a bit of business with Canada.

Rusty and Pear and Mama were from there in my first batch. 2nd batch was Cheetah, PITA, Blanche, Jessica, Nellie, Twirp, Thing 2, Cuckoo (and the girls killed with Rusty and Mama)

They are grooming him! He definitely has his favourite ladies - Marty is his hands down favourite but he also likes Curly, Penelope, Rose and Dorothy.

He doesn’t like Blanches much or Sophia, and I have only seen him with the Grey Ladies once. Not sure about Henny Penny, I know he has tried to boss her around - she steers clear of him mostly...

OK - it's good she stopped making the noise. Is she the one with the beak issue? Maybe try a wet mash feed for her, dry feed might be hard for her to manage.
Yes, she is the one with the beak problem. So try soaking her food in warm water? Is she allowed to have scratch, oyster shells, and mealworms if I do that?

Okay, a friend of mine have two of those. My mom and I call them Christmas birds! Her birds have green undertones to the feathers. They really do look like Christmas birds!
