So I tried confining them to the coop before roosting. I am kinda regretting interfering as I think there is less runway for them from these rafters unless they fly on to roosts.
I do hope they don’t break their necks coming down.
Ugh. Why did I do this?

Because i suggested it and it seemed like a good idea. I'm sorry. You need to fatten those birds up.

I have found a long handled shovel ( with the D grip) makes a great 'chicken lifter' off their roosts (read : branches)that are high! Between that and my very sturdy 2 step step stool, I can reach about 9'+ up! (ask me how I know )🤷‍♀️:idunno
I think you gave her some defective or poorly trained chickens.

Just saying. 🤷‍♂️

She has really golden hackles! Very grand. ❤️
Yes her hackles seem very different from the typical photos you see of Jubilee orpingtons. I think they are gorgeous. They remind my Patsy in a way.

Oh she is enjoying the entertainment.
I have been distributing treats to distract everyone - Diana gets to eat the lion share of those.
Sometimes she sits up on a tree stump and watches them all chase each other. Like a queen watching her knights jousting for her entertainment.
She seems unperturbed by the additions and they treat her with respect. If she approaches a feeder they move out of her way so she has free access to it, but they don’t scamper and run like they do from Bernie.
I have only once see her give a little peck on the head when Babs did her whole takeover of the roosting spot. But that was pretty mild.
Bottom line, I think she is enjoying all the fun from a safe distance.
Like a true queen should. She has a minion to enforce her will, Bernie. The queen should not get her beak dirty unless absolutely necessary or she finds it fun like Lilly used to.

Aurora "introduced" herself to the Rascals and then left it to Sydney and Phyllis to do the harassing.
