Let me get the picture updated and I have a surprise for everyone.
Oh I am bouncing in my chair here - hahaha - so eggcited!!!
Everyone this hen who drives me up the wall did it. She has at least 2 but I think several more. I can hear those sweet little peeps when I step out onto the back porch. I honestly thought that with the bone chilling cold she was wasting her time, but not my Momma Hen. Now I'm really nervous, how am I going to get this group safely off the hill and across the creek.

She has 4, and a very smug proud of herself look.

Oh that hen is the living end hahaha! I don't care I love her - sell her to me! I will take her on :) I take on the crazy horses why not the crazy hens hahaha!

Can't wait for more updates! :love :love :love :love ❤️ 💕
(four for babies and hearts for mama)

I am a glutton for punishment. Several of the new breeds I in the future want to add to my flock, are known for frequent broodiness. Those little D'uccles are flat out adorable, but from what I've read they are as broody as a game hen or silkie.
They will fit in nicely here then hahahaha - everyone seems to want to be broody!

What is BY Bob up to Now?!

In about a hour I will have a update on Momma hen. My adoptive brother is here and he works for a tree cutting company. He has volunteered to go get Momma, chicks and eggs. It is supposed to come a winter storm tonight and tomorrow so it will be bad if she tries to bring them off. I do know if we can move her tonight, she will not abandon the eggs that have not yet hatched so in the coop she is going.

Hello friends,

My dad is a bit better and I am a lot relieved. His pneumonia was severe and this is a good trend. His appetite was so good that he asked for a drink... I grew up in a town famous for rice wine. Almost every one drinks at lunch and dinner, and this is definitely the case for my parents. Occasionally I was drinking a small amount of beer or wine with my meals as very young teens... 🙃

Thank you for all the kind words. Here is a picture of young Foxy in our bed.

I am so very excited to hear this good news! 👍

I was expecting that if we had roosters in the hatch it could be a potential problem with Théo when they grew up.
It's not what happened however. Théo and Chipie had several serious arguments when she became broody and Théo tried chasing the chicks away when they were days old. Whether it was because Chipie wanted to keep them to herself or because he somehow knew they weren't his or because he's a brat, I don't know. Chipie had to protect them constantly and later I had to use all kind of tricks so they could roost in the coop. I would prefer peaceful cohabitation but I'm afraid the chickens will reproduce what they have been through.
That is something. She must have been a very good mum.

That looks like roofing material to me. Or maybe siding.
Do tell!
That is metal roofing for the big coop. I'm going to try and get it on tomorrow before e have any big snows. Wish me luck. This is my first time working with metal roofing.

It is unpainted so Mrs BY Bob can choose any color she wishes for the roof. Plus it was $10 cheaper per piece unpainted. That will buy a gallon of paint. I paid more for those three pieces of metal than all the wood used to build the coop the first time.
