Bob, I just LOVE these Ask Aurora posts! I find myself with a goofy grin smeared across my face every time I read them. Maybe someday you should compile them into a book?

What, like having tea on there or something ?

They are not using it in the many ways they could: sunbathing (it's not been sunny), playing tag, ping pong or soccer/football. You would think so, it is big enough!

I have seen them jump up, and later leave the coop and walk across to the top of the ladder and take a step down and then fly off. That was when I was cleaning the roost and nest box today (two have been sleeping in there all night now, I think!) and Peanut came up to say hello and tell me she might lay an egg in there one day.

I will try to take a picture. I did catch the last one leaving this morning on the cam setup after the pop door opened, but it was quick!

No problem. My husband just said that the plate is warm and nice, not hot.

No, the 'Way of the Chicken' isn't evolving - it is and was 'Always the Way'. It is just that YOU are learning afore unknown to YOU parts of "The Way of The Chicken'

I thought they might stand there and groom. Mine use the porch to do that.
