Poor Jaffar, he came to me shivering 🥶 this morning. Comb, waddles and his little feets are so cold. I have him inside to warm him and me up! 7F244073-EF2F-47AC-9857-4508F0DAD553.jpeg

Poor baby! I hope he is okay! Sorry that I have not been active on here. I've just been super busy. How is everyone? I can't find the any Ask Aroura's..
Can someone send me a link to the new Ask Aroura's? ❤

Aurora answers the questions on Wednesday. She doesn’t have her own channel yet

My cameras leave a couple of big blind spots in the Chicken Palace and one is of course one of their favorite spots.
Today I figured how to rig a camera up to capture most of that area. It is a bit weird perspective but fun to see them hang out there.

Weird angle yes, but my eyeglasses clarify the picture better

You are probably right - I see that "F2B" Moss Eggers at lattigorancho speaks of breeding their Moss Egger back to Marans.
@RoyalChick thanks for asking, I too was carefully looking at the shape and comb & wattles (the lack) and trying to figure it out!
I got that little book just a couple days ago and have started through it. It is somewhat informative, but very limited for me in that I was hoping it would have a general guide of characteristics of a breed at least by body / tail shape and stance, which I think is really important in trying to even start figuring out what breed we're looking at. Like a flower guide might do. But I do love the pictures, and it does have bits of information.
Well Marans and Marans crosses hold special interest to me. I love my Marans, and my crosses. The majority of my crosses are black with the exception of Squirrel and Blueberry and now Ducky. The all have the same general body shape and 2/3rds of them inherit some degree of the marans foot feathering as well. Lovely birds with lovely temperaments and my favorite dark speckled eggs.
