I informed Russ yesterday that in a couple day's I'm hopping on his back. I do not think he believed me. Rosie informed me I was dreaming and not allowed to steal her horse.

Oreo update: The tips that seemed to have a touch of frostbite have healed with no noticeable loss and the henpeck injury is almost done healing. He is really filling out now and is almost done growing out all his big Roo feathers.

That boy is handsome and I love him. If you think he is pretty now, you just wait another year. He is going to get broader and more copper down his back. At around 18 months after he has completed his first adult molt he is going to wow you. I think he is going to look similar to my Bubba with the darker copper coloring. Bubba is roughly a year older then Oreo. A silkie may be my current personal favorite rooster, but my heart still stops and skips a beat when I look at Bubba. A nice Marans boy is hard to beat in the looks department in my opinion.

I hope he will look much like Bubba. those flag feathers are stunning, I do look forward to him growing those in. Roosters, in general, seem to get a bad rap but wow are they are stunning!

This is my 'little miss friend.' She is always great company for a house bound chicken - no matter the girl! She is past due for freezer camp, but she won't go - I'll keep her as long as she stays on this Earth.

What do you call her comb? It’s like a pea comb and it’s different from the Buckeyes pea combs which have distinguishable sort-of rows, little fleur de lis when you look straight-on at them.
