That boy is handsome and I love him. If you think he is pretty now, you just wait another year. He is going to get broader and more copper down his back. At around 18 months after he has completed his first adult molt he is going to wow you. I think he is going to look similar to my Bubba with the darker copper coloring. Bubba is roughly a year older then Oreo. A silkie may be my current personal favorite rooster, but my heart still stops and skips a beat when I look at Bubba. A nice Marans boy is hard to beat in the looks department in my opinion.
Bubba.

Just stunning.

Yes. The book is at my level. But I agree, I would like to graduate to a book that helped me understand body shape and stance etc.
I think I understand the difference in body shape between Orpingtons (Hattie) and Legbars (Glynda) but not much more.
If you find such a book let me know!

Book chat tax - Babs is so pretty (well I think so!)

My cameras leave a couple of big blind spots in the Chicken Palace and one is of course one of their favorite spots.
Today I figured how to rig a camera up to capture most of that area. It is a bit weird perspective but fun to see them hang out there.

Notable to me is it appears they’ve continued hanging together since breakfast. Nice!
Bernie -ahem - Queen Bernadette - is figuring out her benevolent ruler role?

Porch this morning, it was still pretty dark at 7am with the snow on the Little Run roof. I need to remember to rotate the iPad so it will be more full screen, sorry. I think the camera infra red probably helped them jump down! Porch has enough room for everyone to take their time. Someone was still in the coop snoozing, I checked.
