My dark Brahmas lay lightish brown eggs....bordering on pink....

I have been researching Brahmas - I love the look of them, and the colours are beautiful. Might just go with them if I can swing it with my broodies.

Awwww - they look up to you - you're their protector, provider of food, and likely entertainment - I think that pets get as much entertainment from us, as we do them!

If you don't have fake eggs, put 1 or 2 of the eggs they've laid into a couple of the nest boxes and leave them for 24 hours. At this time of year, they might freeze but for just a day should be ok. Instinct says to lay eggs in safe places and where one lays another will follow as its likely a safe place.

This works. I have ceramic eggs all over the place. Wherever I want them to lay.

Wonderful mugs. You know, I've always felt deep down that the "fierce" Aurora was simply misunderstood and really a sweet hen. That blueberry picture....nope....that is the face of a hen that would cut you in a dark alley and not think twice.

She is about 8.5 month. I feel like some of the butt area is a bit red
Maybe the starting sign of vent gleet, as linked in Kelly's post? I am going to do some research about it.

Her poo color is pretty normal, if I happen to see it. It is also not always runny. Will the purpose of float test be finding worms?

Worms and coccidia are identified in a float test.
