I'm hoping to hear some better news from @featherhead007 and @ValarieF health wise , and I would also be relieved to hear from @Marie2020 . Her last message didn't sound so good so like you I hope it's just internet or smaller life issues.

Thank you for the answers about muff, beards and black chickens. I didn't think of silkies ! I think both EE, ameraucanas and silkies are beginning to be trendy here- the colored eggs are just beginning to be a thing. But most people are too used to tan / beige eggs and they won't want to eat other color. That's one of the reason why we have few production leghorns - white eggs don't sell.

Chipie's sweet butt. Poor thing has it tough these days as she gets chased even by Théo and her butt feathers are already deteriorated from all the pulling and pecking.

I just checked and last @Marie2020 was on was January 19th. That’s not so bad. I’ve missed some weeks myself.

Rosie is medicated and back asleep. Mom and Grandma just left to head to the store. I am going out on a mission. I need new pics of the October girls. I really need to decide my keepers. The guy that got the roosters also wants hens and pullets. He currently has 20, is on the lookout for about 20 more girls.

Well you do live in France the birth place of the Marans. You do not know how lucky you are, some of the best Marans and hatching eggs are within your grasp. Without the high export cost at that.

Now for some other pictures I took this morning. I still have to track down Ducky and her sister. When I grabbed my camera and headed out all 5 girls were together. Get out back, and those 2 had ran off.

Perdita is on the right.

The unnamed black girl has some brown lacing showing through. She is going to be a pretty girl as well.

If I did not know better, I would swear at this age that Perdita is a full black large fowl cochin chick.

Well, I think I see at least 1 boy here.

Goose is on duty.

No had dare touch her store egg....she is hatching it.

Another unnamed girl, gosh she is pretty as well. I could be in trouble here. You know, maybe this is the one I need to drop off at @RoyalChick house. While she does have feathered legs, experience tells me they will be lightly feathered as a adult.
