I think we need to send Alex a bust - but not just any old bust - but one of Poe - or Shakespeare hahaha - so he can put it out in the Coop and the kiddos can sit on it... he can wax poetic while Jaffar sleeps on his lap

I can see a lovely Rock perched up there calling Never-more!

The raven perches on a ‘bust of Pallas’ which I think means the Goddess Athena.
Do we have any chickens called Athena?

Hmmm - well If Alex is getting some more chicks this Spring- he needs to name one Athena, and one Lenora for sure!

Yes. First time. But to be clear Eli hasn’t even been in the nest boxes. She is still just guarding Babs who is going into them back and forth between snacks.

As we started with Poe I was thinking Lenore is a good name for a chicken.

Well maybe Eli has Babs checking them out for her, then when she finds one she likes Eli will hop in and pop out an Egg!

Freudian slip! We know more about what we think and need than we realize (or allow ourselves to acknowledge) sometimes.
