After two hours and 45 minutes we have a result!
It is pale minty blue green. It is 45 grams, and is the first egg laid in The Chicken Palace for a very long time.
She went a bit overboard on the calcium so it has a gritty texture from lots of tiny calcium deposits.
She was the only one who did not sing the egg song - both Eli and Bernie were shouting up a storm, and by the time she was done I was joining in too.
Taking a good picture with her and her egg was hard as the other two wanted to take credit for the egg and kept crowding in. And all Babs wanted to do was rehydrate.
But here goes - please celebrate with me!

Joining the egg party with two new layers today. Brownie laid her first chocolate egg and either snicker or doodle laid a blue-green egg.

The four we got today I washed to see the colors so they are the shiny ones in the basket.

hahahaha

Bob likes to be there for the eggs I see!

Those brabanter birds have landed on my wish list (along with appenzeller spitzhaubens if I spelled that right). Those forward crests are cool looking while not blocking vision.
I know they are really neat aren't they? :)

Hoping I might get some (though not 5 - sheesh! I know I will bring you a few :) )

Three in the Nest Boxes

Sophia is doing the egg call, and Mr P is crowing up a storm. I have Marty way down below on the bottom nest, Blanche is in the top nest box, and Whiskers is still in her nest box - likely figures it's safer there then taking on Sophia hahaha!

Egg count for today is 7! that is a good count from my gals who only last week were not really laying hardly at all!

Cocorico !
I disagree, Babs is no goose. I hope she learns to regulate her egg's size ! It looks good though.

@RebeccaBoyd glad Rosie is feeling better, she's been though a lot of health trouble. You're a real mamma hen to her 😁. I love the chick's names after Poe's poems.

@ValarieF I love your roosters. They steal the show ! Hope you are feeling a bit better.

I keep complaining about very small health problems because I'm so lucky not to have bigger ones. I've been having a torticolis for two days! I think you call it a stiff neck but torticolis is a much funnier word. Anyway it's been quite cold here and even though the weather is beautiful I've been spending more time inside than usual which is making me cranky. I do have pictures of Piou-piou drinking through the ice for thirsty Thursday! Have a nice day / evening everyone. My chickens are already asleep here.

Oh dear - that sucks and so painful - we call it Wry-neck here, caused by a viral infection in some cases. Sure hope you're feeling better soon :(

Those are awesome photos! I love seeing those girls of yours - and your boys too ❤️

I found 4 eggs on the floor of the coop this morning and one yesterday which was being eaten. My hubby is finishing the coop this weekend so we will have twice the room for the chooks.
I am still chuckling over that egg yesterday morning that I saw on the ledge.... and then it was gone
:lau

When I get home I am going to put a lip on the ledges so eggs can't roll off haha!
