Mmmm mangos! I wonder if chickens like mango? When I get home I will try them with mange. They do not like apple, but they love cabbage and whole carrots

You know having Mr P settled and around to raise any boys up to be well behaved little gents… you can never have too many GOOD roosters! we had a couple people drive out to see the beach, they stopped to see the chickens, of course we were out walking the goats and they eventually caught up to us on the road. “How many Roosters do you Have out there… there’s so many boys!” Was a lovely opening for a half hour discussion of Roosters and flock dynamics. As well as a brief “well the chickens aren’t really pettable, but hold on here’s my Rooster! You can pet him!” Moment. Scarface wasn’t sure what to think of this. Sammy had made himself unavailable at the other end of the yard, then Pretty Boy decided to demonstrate chicken Romance our guests were very enlightened on the way of the Chicken today.View attachment 3401774

Now that pretty boy looks like a Bielefelder - but feathers on the legs... maybe he has some in his past

I was checking my kiddos on the barn cam and of course Mr P and Misty decided it was a good time to have a good time ! This is why I don't show people my chickens on the barn cam haha!

Yes I am hoping she or someone is broody when I get home, I have 7 hens that went broody last summer a few of them more than once. So I am hoping one of them is broody!

I would prefer the gals raise the babies in The Way of the Chicken.

Good morning - I am good, and it's a nice day here

I have one. Im a little concerned though.
Day one with it consists of a picture taken roughly 4 times a minute (over 800 by morning) Peep was on his spot resting for the night, then next video (does NOT show how he got down) shows his face in the camera pecking at it.

Then the ladies flung dirt on it and tried to sit on it. I swear these chickens.

My cameras are up high so my kiddos can't get at them. But when I turn the Pan/Tilt cameras the chickens see that movement and look at it

I just made a thread about this but curious if anyone here has seen it.

If you look at threads there is a gibberish name with gibberish titles and posts. Many of them by many different people.
What is this? Its strange. Its also annoying because it covers up real, important threads.

Pear and Cuckoo love every fruit except citrus. They're not fond of carrots or onions.

I ordered 5 dark Brahmas - if I can't have spangles then at least I can have an 'almost barred rock' look with fuzzy legs

Oooohhh! Dark Brahmas have been on my list for some time. However, I’m trying not to order from hatcheries and the local breeder I found has limited breeds.I’ll have to admire your beauties from afar.

Geez. You are lucky it didn’t break your thumb. A mouse snap trap left me looking like that - the rat sized ones are terrifying.
I was just looking at designs for a wood box to put the snap traps in so the chickens and cats are safe. It is always a palaver setting snap traps because I have to exclude the pets. If I build a box that the mice can get into but not the pets that will make it a lot easier.
Hope your thumb heals fast. And be careful!!!

I also found some heavy duty plastic rodent traps that have little tunnels leading to the bait and jaws.
