I'm working in Oklahoma and got Lety's message that she found Gorda dead this morning when she opened her coop. Not sure why but Gorda was sick constantly as a pullet. She was in our home several months. That's how we have a strong bond. Fortunately yesterday Lety had put some of her last eggs in the incubator. Cholo has lost 2 girls from his tribe recently, poor fella.
So very sad. :hugs :hugs

When she does it she appears very relaxed laying on my legs, and usually kneads my legs with her claws, she will stare into my eyes and just keep kneading and her head and ears draw back like Enzo is doing, just staring at me :)

I am fairly certain she is visualizing me as a wildebeest on the Serengeti and she is a lion chasing me down....

:lau
That would be very Ezo-like. He is always thinking of new creative ways to attack me.

It’s a grainy photo, but you can see Harold the resident Red Shouldered Hawk on the wires. You are right, Bob; humans are only somewhat of a deterrent. Lexi, however, is a wonderful deterrent.

I bet Lexi is an amazing deterrent. I am hopeful that Éowyn is a well.

Love the panic door set up. There is a great thread in that on BYC if only I could find it! But it only works if you are introducing little ones. If you are introducing big ones you need lots of junk that chickens can dodge behind to avoid each other. And no blind ends where someone could get cornered and pecked.
I am not home and not sure I have pictures but my pasture runs each have two chicken doors so nobody can get blocked in there by one attacker. Eli and Babs made good use of that leading Bernie in interminable Benny Hill-like chases around and around!

Those were hysterical. :gig:lau:gig:lau

Why do my Princesses wait until I am away to fulfill my dreams. Bernadette I now know laid her first egg literally the first day I was gone. And this morning I get this lousy picture from the coop cam which is all three dust bathing together. Actually Babs was kicking dirt into Bernadette’s face and Bernie seemed fine with that.

Isn't it wonderful how they eventually work it out. :love

New Roosting Location

Betty is not roosting with the other chickens tonight in either of the coops and run. It took me forever to find her.

That's right. She is in Hattie House. But not on either of the roosts. She is sleeping in the nest box on the ceramic eggs. Phyllis has been laying in there. I wonder if Betty is about to start.

i just closed up Hattie House and left her there. She is safe but will have to wait for me to let her out in the morning.

Roosting time at FBA is just nuts.

Lady Featherington is roosted with both Sydney and Aurora on the high roost tonight. Glynda and Phyllis are alone in the Cluckle Hut.

This whole group is just wacky. I was scared to death trying to find the both of them. I could not see Lady Featherington between the two of them on the cameras. I had to go out with a flashlight. And then Betty was no where to be found. Adult beverages are needed. :barnie

Awe, what a GREAT grandpa you are!! I love the picture of Eve with her head down on the table - trying to get a good angle to see the construction coming together!! And the similar one with her helping with the glue. she couldn't have a better construction superintendent!!! (And I bet you couldn't have had a more engaged worker!!!!)🥰🥰🥰🥰
That's not glue, it's icing. Those are cookie walls. It's all edible! Her and I are going to eat it on Easter. 😆
