They are adorable, remember they are really small even when grown so you will need to keep them away from your big roosters or they might get injured. That is why I had to get rid of Pangoo (that and he started attacking my mum and the kids).

Also the silly things tend to get under foot so watch where you step! I at one point had to stuff them in my coat and carry them around with me doing chores hahaha! And give them rides in the wheelbarrow 💕

Oh if I could somehow be assured to get pullets I would have got more silkies...
They will have their own pen away from the big girls and boys (1 rooster 3 hens) Im just keeping 4 of them.

Poor Branch! At least he can see better than poor Mr P ! haha!

He is really cute - and I bet he would throw a cuckoo patter if I bred him to Henny Penny hahahahaha! Or even Fluffy! Can't breed to Curly Frizzle to Frizzle is bad I am told :(

It's ok, we're just looking out for the future of your lovely ladies (marrying them off to the best suitor ... you know enabling them... tee hee hee).

I feel like the enablers have shifted their attention woohoo!

This beauty is what I am suggesting 💕 ❤️ And he has duckwings!

Agreed 100% - making animals fight for human glee and fun is cruel and just plain evil.

If people (guys) want to fight amongst themselves for sport so be it... but leave poor animals out of it :(
some low lives are only to happy making animals and people fight. They are cruel beyond my understanding

These gutless wonders should be put in the exact same position.
Ya - no - ugh! hahahah the one I chose is true Eye Candy!

I have to be careful with Tina, and she's fully grown. She is always too near my feet. Such a change because she wouldn't come near me at all for a very long time

Outside is wet but the coop is not too bad. View attachment 3415490View attachment 3415491
That's ok to be inside for a bit, better to stay dry and warm then risk getting a chill I say. You also be careful! I don't want you to get a chill.

Caturday

Stop it, I'm sick of you taking my photo

Hello handsome moggy - I like seeing your photo you're such a nice kitty ❤️

Duh...like most US citizens I forget the whole world isn't in this country! I actually do try to remember that. 😅
Here in Ontario one is not allowed to harass, capture or kill birds of any sort, unless its for hunting season (ducks, geese, turkey... etc). The Migratory Bird Act prevents this. BUT the farmers seem to have a hate on for the Turkey Vultures thinking they kill calves and lambs (sometimes stupid people really irritate me! vultures clean up carrion!).

Oh it's truly too bad you're so far away I would get my chicks from Lety hahahaha :)

Wow UAE - well should be nice there this time of the year, not too rediculously hot yet. My cousin went there to inspect an oil platform that was being brought to NFLD, he was there a month and thoroughly enjoyed it. They took them to see some of the sights, and experienced the local cuisine... Is this your first time there?

Fluffy as a chick/teenager - love those spikey wing feathers! And they sure hurt whey you get swatted in the eyes by them!

If could sex the little twirps I would get more silkie chicks - they are so cute and little mischief makers!
I spent 2016 and part of 2017 doing 1 month rotations in Sharja. Summer is hell but the money is outstanding.

Yep I bet! Some of they guys here have worked those 1 on 1 off rotations in the middle east and other not so savoury places.... places I wouldn't go for sure.

OK well I don't need to say be safe - safety over there is seriously poor IMHO....

Safety First Tax
Babies yay!
Trying to get baby chickies to go to bed is like children! All they wanted to do was run amok and bother the big chickies hahaha! Poor Henny was beside herself many times trying to gather them up :)

Well hopefully she continues to use that location in that case - did I remember you saying you already have a hen of hers?
Genetically speaking, Madea will be the only hen related to her. She did hatch out and raise Squirrel and Karen. It is not entirely her fault as I have used other hens eggs, but she hatches out boys. She also raised Henrietta from her first hatch who was a victim to the coyote that also claimed Drumstick and Clover over a year and a half ago.

Oh well in that case Madea will be a special gal! Maybe she will like Branch and you will get some lovely pullets from that cross! That should be an interesting thing to watch for.

So you are 100% sure of the sire being Bubba - ? Will you have to ensure Madea isn't bred by him? Not sure about chicken inbreeding practices.
