Those sound good!

I made the quiche up as I went. 4 slices of bacon, sauted onion and mushrooms with oregano and thyme. Deglazed the pan with a splash of chardonnay. Added shredded swiss. All in all, one of the best I've ever made! Told my husband with all these eggs, quiche and fritatas are going to be on the menu more often!

Only 2 eggs today. But 13 in 5 days from 3 hens is pretty good!

Is there a recipe tax?

There is. Thank you for your payment

I was treated to these visitors for a few minutes while washing dishes. They did not get to stay long as Grackle and Ducky spotted them and proceeded to chase them off.

I should know what these are. I can identify several breeds of chickens, but fail miserably at most songbirds.
She was chasing off her namesake.
I did.

A day late but here you go....

Oh, be still my heart! That first photo is most excellent, you should submit that one for POW! :love :love :love :love

How long will you be gone, how many incubators do you have and how many eggs do they each hold? What is your current chicken count (reality, not chicken math rules)?
Best guess is I'll be gone 30 days. We have one mechanical incubator which holds12 eggs. There's 4 EE mix girls currently on eggs, 3 or 4 each. Poofy Jr is due to go broody any day. One bantam sitting on 5 eggs. Total count is approximately 40 mature chickens, 8 youngsters not of egg laying age. I may be off by one or 2 chickens but 40 is a real number of chickens of egg laying age. Getting about 1 dozen eggs each day.

Hmmm. 12-16 standard eggs plus 5 bantam, possibility of another broody, 12 eggs in incubator.......

I'm going to guess an even 40 new birds. Not all chicks. Some of them from swap, so some of the egg laying age won't be there when you get home.

You are probably closer to a real number than me, lol. I was going to guess 20.
