Far as I can tell they are mutts... Both lay greenish eggs.

They are both very pretty. I had remarked how lovely Misty is before, but somehow I missed Whiskers. Lovely.

My mum sold it to me, when she decided that she didn't want to go to AZ anymore, so I bought it, then she bought it back from me thinking she might go back.... then up and sold it last summer! Wish she hadn't

I like my mutt chickens - they lay a variety of egg colours, and are likely very hardy! We shall see how hardy the new chicks are that I am getting in April - I am already worried about the Brahmas being too hot

I gave up on the portable AC unit idea - I didn't want a noisy machine running all the time, but then I think what's the difference if it's a fan running full blast - oh the dilemma....

OK who out there has Brahmas where they get HOT HUMID weather and how do you keep them cool, esp at night - night is when I worry. The barn is nice and cool usually.

Fill a bucket with water. If you want to put goodies like fruits/veggies in it too, fine. Put the bucket in the freezer. When it's solid, remove, dip in hot water and upend it on the ground in front of your birds. The bear rescue centers do this for the bears on extra hot days.

Try a bow tie first to test him
