Curly why are you up there!?

Curly hops up onto the top roosts, runs along them, up overtop of the nest boxes to get down onto the shelf and into that one nest box! Smart Chicken!💕

Sophia is singing to her, before she also gets into the nest box next to her and lays her egg❤️

They are so cute.

I keep pondering the fast moving thread issue.

What if a few of us regular frequenters of the thread volunteer to post a weekly synopsis on a consistent day, say Sunday. Just a brief synopsis of the week, the chicken related highlights. New chicks or chickens, illness, and any other chicken keeping issues anyone has posted about.

The volunteers can take turns to post the synopsis on Sunday this way no one has to do it every week.

Then anyone who cant check in regularly can look for that post to catch up and feel they have a good overall picture of the goings on and those like to chat can keep on doing so.

I volunteer myself, if other folks like this idea and @BY Bob approves of course.

Thoughts?

Any luck? Might want to use a rubber boot though :gig

Oh she looks just lovely with those brown chevrons marking her feathers! And the electric blue sheen on her feathers - What's Bernie up to / thinking there??
Bernie is wondering how she let Eli bamboozle her out of the dried cat food at the bottom of the bowl.

Eli missed her chance to ruin my shoe. She did produce something. It was not quite normal - too liquid - but better than yesterday’s weirdness.
She is still drinking more than feels natural but maybe a tad less so than yesterday.

She still has not pooped today?
Oh I am sure she has but I wasn’t there to witness it!
If it is completely liquid like yesterday afternoon then it would disappear without trace.
I have come in to warm up and will sit with them again a bit later and observe.

Maybe in a small animal crate for 30 min to see what she produces?

I am happy to give it a try - it isn't easy - you may remember I did the synopsis after one of Bob's trips and it was quite some effort. Also, those who believe they can embellish the synopsis should probably bite their tongues!!

We did something like that when By_Bob was away last year - a scribe kept a diary of sorts for him - I think it worked well...

I would be ok with helping out with that.

Curly was freaking me out earlier by roosting in the top nest box to lay an egg! Sophia was singing the egg song for her, then went into the next box beside Curly to lay her egg!

Kinda lol, just a very brief highlights post once a week. Just the facts, I agree with RC on that point 100% and only about chicken related posts, personal stories/details wouldn’t be included.

I figured if a few of us rotated doing it, it would be reasonable. :) perhaps it may help those that just can’t check in as often?

Can you tell I was a process improvement/ workforce analyst before I quit to raise my kiddos? Totally not obvious at all right? 😂

Like so?:

- BY-Bob's gals continue to have bed-time drama, he has been staying out of the frey and letting them work it out themselves.
- Rebeccaboyd's marchmallows are now ~6weeks of age, Mama Chiquita is showing no signs of leaving them.
- Rebecca also sold off 3 of the 4 babies for 'Bat-crap-crazy-Momma-Hen', leaving one lone pullet whom BCCM-Hen now won't wean!
-RoyalChick's lovely Eli is still roosting in the penthouse, and presented her with an odd dropping, RC is observing closely to ensure no illness is brewing.
- Pastel the Rooster is not hatching eggs, rather her riding instructor is hatching the eggs she gave to her instructor.
- Valarie has a dozen Silkie eggs in the incubator and as of 28 Feb they were there 3 days. An update to be provided next week's synopsis.

..... and so on and so forth... ?

I will be guided by Bob, but I am happy to give it a go. We can have a rota.
I actually had fun doing it when Bob was away. The trick is to write it as you go so you don’t have to go back.
