Russ got his feet done Thursday. This afternoon Rosie hopped on him and rode him a bit. When she was finished I decided it was time to see if my back would handle me riding. I was on at a walk for maybe 10 minutes. I learned something. First I am out of shape and my legs were like Jell-O when I got off. Secondly, even with numb legs, my back was not hurting. It's official, Rosie is going to have to share her horse, I want on him for a bit every time she rides him.
I'm very happy for you. That's wonderful.

Well, I’ve been sick the last Day and a half with a flu/cold somethingrather that DH brought home on Sunday which knocked him out for three full days. Yesterday I barely got the chickens out, and then back up again at night. Bonuses to being sick in an RV: it’s three shuffling steps from the bed to the toilet and the bathroom door can be used for support. Today is a bit better, Rainy out, so the goats are settled down in their pen “no outside for us, thanks” there’s some wind, but nothing Crazy. And when I feel up to looking out the window, there’s my old boy Sammy… ❤️
Feel better soon. :hugs :hugs

This video is long, and I'm sorry it is sort of dark. The Marshmallows discovered their new roost at the edge of dark. They clearly do not need Chiquita to teach them to use those tiny wings of theirs. My camera died as soon as I stopped recording so no pictures. I have it on charge now and after dark I will go back out to see if they end up using it tonight. Judging by Chiquita's reactions, I think she wants them in the tote with her again tonight. I'm so glad Momma Hen is not raising this crew. She has tried and has failed to get Madea up into the tree. The Marshmallows, would follow her with ease right now I think.
They would definitely follow her into the tree. We had to "rescue" Daisy, the greatest hen ever, from the birch tree many times when she was very young. That was her preferred roosting location for several weeks. Elphie did not want to share the roost so Daisy went high.

WOW - they sure can fly! was that Chiquita bopping along the bottom of the video?

So does Momma Hen roost in the tree in the winter frosty weather also?
Leghorns are very close to real birds. They can fly. Their wings are longer than their body. They extend past their bums.

I have outlined Elphie's wing in this photo. As you can see it extends as far past her bum as her butt fluff does.

Oh my. I hope you feel better soon. :hugs :hugs

Chiquita got her way again tonight. I think she needs to realize though that her marshmallows are growing up and do not really fit under her anymore. She joined them up on the roost for all of 30 seconds and then hopped down into the tote and called them to her. They really did not want to come down at first. I predict in a few days they will stay up. I'm ready myself to kick them out of the tote, I have to clean it out every 2 days the little poop machines. Look at their crops though, Chiquita does not take her kids to bed on a empty stomach.

I can't get enough. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Yes Sammy, the most Amazing Rooster ever (sorry Jaffar…) waiting on Andrew to get home so I can see what the Damage is. Sammy has a Torn up Earlobe, no biggie there, little Sister is Laid open on her Back, there is an Eagle rethinking Chicken Dinners between whatever the chickens did between its strike and the Crazy lady with the broom in her PJ’s. I need DH to better assess the girl, between the bumble foot, and now this…

It looked like after the strike the Eagle was mobbed by my chickens. It took off before I got in broom reach.
That is scary. To bad you didn't catch up to it with that broom.
