She has 3 eggs, 2 pink silkie eggs not sure if one is hers, and a large brown egg that I think is a Sophia egg. I marked them all for today and tomorrow will keep an eye out to see who lays what eggs so I can guess at who the 2 pink eggs are. And Sophia also...

He's a cockerel!! I thought a pullet until I saw spurs. And look at the COMB!!!

I think hens can have spurs sometimes... can't they?

Pony Sunday is for all other critters than chickens (though Saturday is for kitty cats).

Miserable day here today, windy, blowing and drifting snow. My internet keeps going on and off at the barn so I am stuck in the house working. Boohoo! Hard to keep an eye on who is lay what eggs but I know that Misty laid a nice egg, so I marked her name and date on it, Buttercup, and I have a huge brown egg - not sure who laid it - maybe Blanche? or Sophia? I need to catch those two in the act of laying eggs so I can 1) see if they are still laying eggs, and 2) get one of Sophia's egg and hope that Marty is going to go broody.... or someone go broody!

Hey all. Been away a few days and you end up missing so much. Tried to skim...too much to quote folks. Those of you with poor health, chicken tragedies, awful weather issues...I'm thinking of you all.

A ton of covid posts! I had it once, back in April 2020. And May 2020. That first version lasted forever! Sickest I've ever been in my entire life. I ended up in the ICU for 6 days, hospital for 10, and consider myself lucky! They talked ventilator for the first 4 days. I squeeked by. You bet I had every vaccine and booster after that...even though they ALL have made me sick as a dog; fever, chills, aches, etc. But 2 days of that is better than 10 days in the hospital and 7 weeks off work! Thank God I had sick leave!

My little flock is still happy, healthy, and giving us lots of eggs. Here's my best twofers...I can never get decent photos.
