Cuckoo and barring are basically the same thing. Which term is used depends upon the breed.

Misty is kicking up a fuss, I showed her a nice nest box... ugh she said - no thank...

Then I went to see what the rest were squawking about...
They found the hay I threw down and piled - I hadn't yet covered it with the sheets

Luckily no poopies where deposited there

He wants to go to the coop

Hmmm maybe for a little while, and see if he is ok.

Perdita has a announcement.

She wishes to inform everyone that as of this morning she has officially joined the working girls.

She also wishes it to be known that Branch is HER rooster. The two of them were inseparable yesterday. He showed her every nest spot and this morning she chose the nest in the coop that he kept taking her to yesterday. She also allowed him to breed her. Bubba tried yesterday evening around roosting time and instead of submitting she turned and attacked him then ran to have Branch escort her to the roost in the coop. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me and hope it continues. Branch has so few hens who actually like him. The Cochin girls love him, but they are just to big for him. He was successful yesterday with Perdita.

Jaffar is now with his ladies in the coop. There’s no sign of the other rooster from yesterday. The neighbors dog probably got him (because he jumped over the wrong fence)

I held the frizzle chick for a little bit. She/He is spunky and chirps alot. She stayed on my chest and gave me a peck on the cheek.

Wasn’t too sure at first but once they got a taste of them it was everyone for themselves!

That’s wonderful! Sounds like he is starting to get back to his normal self. Sure hope that other Roo is gone….
