A lovely day outside. Most of it spent doing yard work. After Lety came home she wanted to do some work on a pen. We sectioned off a portion of our largest pen and added a door so we can move the rascals from the brooder and put a mama and babies there. Very proud of Lety, her carpentry skills are improving 👏
And I bet she enjoys it, as kids my sister and I much preferred helping dad work on the cars, or build and fix something rather than do boring housework!

Really? Why are people their own worse critic ? 🥰

I loved it! Music is such a huge part of my culture so when I hear lovely music it’s just so wonderful. I loved how it turned all jouyous when Spring ‘erupted’!
I just answered that question in another post! :D I thought about my process and why it gives me so much anxiety.

It is usually very fast but our knowledge is incomplete as the are culling immediately upon symptoms and positive test. So we don't know how sick any survivors might get for how long.

What we do know says that we are moving past bird flu as the cause.
I am inclined to agree with you as a cause it is not likely. I am interested to see what you assess Lady F and her wheezing.

If they are like my neighbours they probably enjoy it. It’s funny how people enjoy hearing the crowing.

So I take it they get along ok, no fighting?
Bela usually runs away when G-man chases him (every morning, it’s a routine they have!) and then they hang out all day. Although Bela challenged him the other morning. 😳

Get busy with the brooder. I could loan you a broodie hen or two if you were closer...
Oh I have the big crate and brooder plate ready to go, just really wish a few of my gals would get motherly! Maybe if they hear real babies … ? I had a horse once who used to steal other mare’s babies maybe a couple of mine will do that.

It’s so wonderful they generally get along, it sounds like they have a really good relationship together.

I think that 3 or 4 EE hens along with Poofy Jr and a black cochin? Are broody here. Guess who isn't broody. That's right, every Silky hen, 😆

Ok all I am going to try for some sleep, my RLS is evil tonight and my back achy (it was throw down hay day…). I just checked on the chooks, glared at Fluffy and everyone is snoozing nicely.

Look at her all comfy 😁

If a couple of my EE mutts went broody it would solve my problems! They could cover at least 8 chicks each 😊

Careful what you wish for with the silkies!
