What now! :barnie The automatic drive on the wheels of my lawnmower locked up and I can’t mow my yard (needs mowing desperately) I will go out and repair it after it warms up some outside.

I would like to say, today… before I pull out the incubators… everyone here is a horrible enabler. I have four dozen eggs sitting on my coffee table, two more dozen and they are going to make the trip to my mothers where there is
Power and a stable indoor temperature. I have three people asking for chickens this year. I should grow my flock for next season. I’m not planning on doing meat birds this year, so why not hatch a few?

A few quick Monday Mugs.
Goose yelling at me. Yup she is broody, still on the nest when I went out so I made her get off. Before she started yelling she gifted me with the stinky broody poo :sick.

Fully weaned Marshmallow mugs. Look, do my eye's deceive me or are combs starting to sprout.

Little mugs, sawdust goes in this afternoon. They are pros already at wrecking it minutes after it is cleaned.

Your eyes are NOT deceiving you. Combs are starting and faces are pinking.

You know all the ins and outs in the writing process, understandable. I didn’t think it is rubbish at all. I did think, once or twice, it felt innocuous and didn’t draw attention to itself as much as I wanted. But then, I was listening to it more than I was interested in the video. So isn’t the music there to support the visuals and not draw too much attention to itself?
Thanks CB! Yes you are spot on; in the normal course of things, the sign of a good score is that it doesn’t get noticed.

Even is a few days they grow so much! So cute ❤️

Essentially the same as I have done in bringing in Spike, and Roostie, and the Meat rescue Ladies… and I started off with several unrelated roosters so I’ve been able to limit inbreeding that way as well. Of course I set out with breeding goals, and the intention of growing my group from within. One thing I haven’t been able to successfully do though is produce a pure bred anything, my Barnvelders don’t breed each other, Mr and Mrs Marans only had two babies together… and so on. Your plan sounds solid and like a good way to safely introduce some more genetics to both your flocks.
Well I am hedging my bets for any future hatching. Right now I am all planned out with chicks:

- 10 I have on order (5, Brahma & 5, Bielefelder)
- 6 already i the bator…..
- 2 eggs from Penelope go in tomorrow
- 1 hopeful silkie Roo…

So if even 2 of the 6 in the bator hatch that’s a dozen chicks in a couple weeks.
And if 1 of Penelope’s hatches now I am at 13, and let’s not forget that little Silkie Roo, hmmmm 14?

And what happens if they all hatch? And they are all Roos??😳

Meanwhile I have Sophia in the nest box screaming about something…. She hasn’t laid her egg yet.
