Shannon’s Roo will only be around for about a month or so to get her some pure silkie eggs for fresh blood in her flock. Both she and I have not had anything come into the flock in years.Do you both know the Marek’s status of each of your tribes?
I’m feeling sorry for Mr. P getting usurped by another roo with some of his hens after he’s earned their trust! But I’m gathering you don’t want a father-son duo as roosters there, for down the road. Then I think of the silkies getting jumped by a strange roo they’ve only just met - hey, who’s this guy? How does this kind of thing usually go?

Her sister is a Vet Tech and she keeps a close eye on the health of all the beasties. They both know my flock has been a closed flock, so likely healthy.
I am sure my silkie gals will like the Roo they are little hussys, but they will be slowly introduced the same as I did with Mr P and the ladies. Those silkie Roos are really tiny like Marty, I just hope Henny Penny doesn’t hurt him!
As for Mr P being usurped he will have 10 more pullets to have fun with. And the ladies will be reintroduced to him when Shannon’s Roo returns home. I have asked for a day old Roo chick from her silkies (I will do a DNA gender test on a couple to ensure I get a Roo
).Have no idea on the Mareks status, surprisingly Mareks is not the big talk here in Ontario - knock on wood I have not had any illness other than Marty with that egg thing a few days ago
.The big thing here is Avian Influenza there has been so many dead wild birds around, and everyone is just worried about their flocks - I have been chasing away the geese that nest next door - I don’t want them anywhere near my gang.
Soon! Next week my 10 chicks should be arriving - and those in Shannon’s incubator…. If all hatch that will be 16 chicks!!

They are Mrs BY Bob's favorite bird. She loves vultures.But can’t help it, first impression is he looks like a vulture now! Not necessarily a bad thing, vultures are cool.

Well she (?he? might be the circumstance, might be the roo...but that stance is suggestive - though chest not out, so maybe not?)
Anyways - she is absolutely adorable. I swear babies of nearly all animals are cute just so you get attached and take care of them!!! Is she about 2 weeks old? Maybe just under2 weeks? I love the name ! Have you met 'Miss Bee" she just popped on, i think, a week or so ago. Maybe when her chicks arrive, she might abscond with that name!

I have to say, that the previous pics and this one - in addition to showcasing lovely white on black and gorgeous chickens....they are only making Branch all that more dear to me. Not only is he a great dad, but the Marchmallows (I think this is what you should call them...Marchmallows...or did they hatch in late Feb? I forget now) clearly still prefer him to be near. Even though Mom is done, Dad isn't

I didn’t realize you can buy empty capsules. Brilliant! I agree giving capsules (or tablets) is easy.
