You know they supposedly nest here with a rookery on Brown Ridge… that little mountain the goats are so fond of trying to drag me to the top of? Just saying if Mrs BY Bob wanted to put in an order for some hatching eggs… 😉 😂 that would probably keep those nasty hawks at bay!

“Frank… come quick you gotta see this! In addition to the small tiger that’s patrolling down there, they’re this really weird looking chicken. No, it’s bigger than a Turkey even… about the size of one of those jerks with the white heads that keep stealing our patented screech for their own propaganda because they actually sound like a little snack, I mean ‘song’ bird.”

“You’re right Joe. That’s the biggest, Scariest Naked Neck Chicken I ever did see! I’m thinking we should change the team motto to ‘winner, winner, squirrel dinner’. It looks like chicken is off the menu for a while”
Outstanding! :gig :lau:gig:lau

I don’t know about horses, but I swear mine would give me heart attacks darting amongst 13 Giant Land Chickens (Cows) all clustered about and getting pushy around hay bales. So far I’ve never had a direct stepping injury (knocks on Wood) I have had several crushing incidents where cows have tossed chicken tractors, especially with the slower meat birds. Now my little Ponies with horns (Goats) actively try to stomp, head butt, and hook the chickens that try to raid their grain bowls… so far they haven’t succeeded either, and they are actively trying to get the chickens! (Knocks on wood some more because if anything has a chance of stomping a chicken it’s Arduinna)

I don’t think this is a taxable post but here’s one from a while back just in case Pre water Chicken House Expansion… I really need to take a day to just get some more pictures. View attachment 3457260
It's great to see your group Kris. It's been a while. You definitely need more photos. 😉

I call her Goldie. Goldie is eating well and laying eggs. Next week she will get her leg checked. If the fracture has healed we will keep her isolated until she gets her strength back. Slowly introduce her back to the flock.
This is wonderful news. I'm glad she is improving.

So glad Goldie is doing better - hopefully she is doing ok on her own ❤️ She isn’t lonely.

Last spring I had to swank over to my neighbours 4 times to chase the gals back home. Apparently the grass is greener on the other side of the fence!

Speaking of chickens looking at the grass in a different location…

And for those who are challenged on breed identification (cough cough RC cough cough). He's silver spangled (the markings) and his breed is Appenzeller Spitzhauben (at least that what he appears to be), characterized by the forward leaning crest. Based upon the size of comb and spurs, he's fairly young (in the hormonal idiot age range)
