I noticed a lethargic chicken this morning. She is a survivor of cannibalism, and she has been pooping on her butt feathers. I gave her a bath this morning. She is drinking a lot and just standing there. I was thinking electrolytes. Do you have any substitutes for elecrolytes that I can give her?
I am really nervous please help...

Keep her warm and try to get her to eat something.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this.
- You can try her with Gatorade (full sugar version) - it will give electrolytes and fast energy (sugar). Mine like the red flavor.
- Feel her crop first thing in the morning. Is it empty? If not you have a crop issue and plenty of people can talk you through what to do
Have you posted on the emergencies and illnesses thread? You sometimes get overwhelmed with conflicting advice but there are some knowledgeable people there who don't come to this thread.
Several of us on this thread have experience too so can help you navigate if you get some weird advice on the emergencies forum.

So Many Emotions

I am certain that everyone understands the relief I feel regarding the recent respiratory infection. On Friday I was worried that I was out of the chicken business. Mind I would have been out. I would not have replaced them.

Then the joy of releasing them to be together again yesterday. Combined with the anxiety related to another hen fight.

Today it was sadness. Because today Lady Featherington decided to move up in the pecking order as well. She attacked Betty and Betty backed down and started to flee. Once she started to flee Glynda decided to give chase. When it was over Betty was alone in the far corner of the yard.

Yes, I know this is the way of the chicken. But it still breaks my heart. I even took some corn over to Betty so she had a treat.

Then my heart swelled and warmed up with affection. It was grooming time. Check out this photo. Aurora is standing guard over Betty so she can groom in peace. No one can bother her because Aurora is in the way.

Aurora has driven me nuts at times over the years. There was a time I lived in fear of her taking over this tribe. But more and more I coming to appreciate her as a leader of this tribe.

Aurora has matured and settled; and she is learning.

She knows that it is wise to surround one's self with those that will support you.

How old is this chicken?

I would keep it in a warm dry place, and try some warm sugar water. That usually gets them drinking. How bad was she attacked? what was injured on her?

she is about eight or nine months. what was injured on her was her vent. Her three best buddies had to be culled because guts were coming outta them. she is drinking a lot.

It is not surprising Lady F decided to move up with Glynda. When they were younger those 2 were trouble makers and one followed the others lead. I pray it is not going to happen for a very long time. I think you are witnessing the beginning of the rise of your new future Queen and 2nd in command. Glynda will be the next Aurora and Lady F your future Hattie. In that 2nd video where Glynda had mounted Betty, Glynda was really showing her dominance. I think I caught a glimpse of her dropping her wing just like a rooster for a second.

Hooray! I noticed yesterday that there is one around the corner from me, covered in buds. It immediately made me think of your tree and wonder how it was doing

Maybe tell the whole story so we can understand what the issue was, this sound like more than just cannibalism.

In the meantime warm dry and quiet place. Warm sugar water if you don’t have Gatorade.

That sounds like prolapsed vents on the buddies. Did she get that too? Lay an overly large egg? Get an egg stuck? Have an egg break inside her?

Last spring I had to swank over to my neighbours 4 times to chase the gals back home. Apparently the grass is greener on the other side of the fence!
