Is Maizie lower on teh 'totem pole'?

I find mine that are tend to 'bite/peck' harder. Like they need to do it hard and fast to get anything. With multiple attempts at hand feeding - especially if you can get them away from the pack, I have found mine get less 'aggressive' with the fingers/hand.

EDIT to clarify: Very bottom ones tend to be hesitant, like yours, lower middle tend to 'bite/peck' hard.

:idunno :idunno IDK with Bernie, @RoyalChick :idunno:idunno
Bernie just likes the taste of fingers.
I have been experimenting with the closed fist hand feeding approach that Shad once recommended and I think finally I am getting somewhere with Bernie using that approach.

Looks like a lovely day!!
I will have to put an apron on a couple of my silkies (Curly and Marty), Mr P is really a bit too big to be crawling up on them.

Have you thought of using one on Belladonna??

I love that apron @lightm has with one of her hens ( was wondering where she got it!).
Just search for "chicken saddles" on Amazon. The brand is down under.

@rural mouse Loved your pictures!!! So Belladonna is fine in Montana's harsh winter with her bare back? I've been wondering since I was worried about our own hen in our super mild winder.

I've though about it. I haven't had time to make one and figuring out how to fasten it WITHOUT elastic (I'm allergic to polyester, with includes elastic) is still in the puzzle box. I am probably going to slather her back in bag balm for some protection. Maybe the roos will give her a break if they don't like the feel of it on their feet.
Maybe use snaps if the fit is right? You can also have 2 spots where you can choose to snap down for different tightness.

If you make your own, make sure to use hard fabric like Jeans.

Well for comparison, my Silkies seem to do ok, I have a Sweeter Heater for them but I rarely see them under it - Penelope the old gal spends time under it though.

I think the big thing is wet and wind. if they are not wet and there is no wind they seem fine.

Just make one with 'holes' for the wings, like a shirt! I am going to make one like that for Marty - the one with the elastic is wee bit too big for her.

I am waiting on a updated from the usps to see the exact date. ( no, I haven’t checked 100 times already, you believe me right?) but its priority so 2-3 days from today. :D
Wonderful! so in a few weeks more babies - oh I am getting my baby fix this year!

Completely agree with you and @MaryJanet on this.

My car is old fashioned and has no cameras at all. I try not to use GPS as much as I can. I hate autofill in any email client...

How about a chicken song for tax. I like it.
That was fun! Thanks for sharing!

(I will have to owe photos, something going on with posting from my iPhone today)

I had a little break away with my family, the first in a long time.

Those little chucks are looking happ 😊
How are you Kelly?
That's wonderful! All good here, Mr P is entertaining me with his attempts to get the girls to go into nests that he makes hahaha - too funny. I will have to get a video of one day....
