I may need to eat this in bulk, lolThat the chickens given the extract of this plant had healthier livers.

Of course in theory I could also get hatching eggs that have been vaccinated in ovo which I believe the big hatcheries do now. Have to deal with the rooster issue but from a Marek's point of view that would be perfect. If you can get them 5 or less days old she likely will take them, that young they will stick under her for a day or so to get both imprinted on each other. And if they are vaccinated that is good, while they are in the nest for a few days they can still be working on getting that vaccine activated in their system.
I think I read that they need 4 days - 2 weeks for the vaccine to work. Can the place you got your chicks from get you a couple 2 or 3 in a couple weeks? Oh too bad you weren't closer here, I have chicks hatching with my nieces school Monday/Tuesday.
I was sort of hoping one of my other silly hens would go broody so I could shove the whole kit-n-caboodle under them. These chicks will all be sold I do not need more chickens - now I have way too many (unless of course there is some REALLY weird funky colour)
That is why I said I would try it in salad - and also beans!I may need to eat this in bulk, lol![]()
I wish that poke grew here. We ate it every spring in KY8thThat is why I said I would try it in salad - and also beans!
Not so little tassels is also easy to pick out. I can spot leg feathers anywhere. I foresee Tassels being a bigger girl. In general with my maran mixes, and there are a few exceptions, but generally speaking. My Maran mixes tend to be big girls, a lot of them being bigger than their already big maran mothers.Just because, CHICKS!
Unsure which is Piglet? Who has her face in the little white trough?!

I suggest you keep that wrinkly oneI’m going to need to do an egg giveaway soon. Two dozen eggs will go to church with me tomorrow morning. But then I still have these also.View attachment 3495155
Wise decision - plenty of time to have chicksOf course in theory I could also get hatching eggs that have been vaccinated in ovo which I believe the big hatcheries do now. Have to deal with the rooster issue but from a Marek's point of view that would be perfect.
I am sure I could get some vaccinated day-olds in a couple of weeks but I am not sure it is wise.
Remember we started all this with Eli having a mystery illness and she is not fully over it. Also, I think she is too low in the pecking order and too young. I could imagine letting her hatch, or adopt at some stage, but I don't think so right now.
Lovely names, I cannot wait to see Brownie out and about with the chicks. Do not panic yet if they are slow to eat. Chicks really do not need to eat or drink for roughly 72 hours after hatching. The absorbed yolk sac allows this buffer. Now I am paranoid and like to get them eating and drinking as soon as I can, but some are slow and give me fits.I settled on some names today since I have final fuzzy head count.
No idea how I will tell who is who quite yet but here they are!
