I can. Just gave it food and water. Still quite lively and strong. I do not know if this is umbilical or butt or how to tell.

OK so if you dry the fluff behind that tissue you should see the bum, I am inclined to think it's the yolk sac. Check to see if you can see that bum. If you need to pick up one of the other chicks to see what it looks like do so. If you see the bum then its likely the yolk sac.

Deep breath, you can do this, one way of the other.

She is perfect in fine health ❤

They were out in the front garden mist of the morning and enjoying the sun today.

They love courgette and had raw cauliflower and cabbage today. I think these flaxseeds have helped her along to

How is your flock and horses doing? Have you finished painting your shoes and boots 😆 is that fence almost done now it's must be really difficult with that weather
Glad to hear she is doing well! glad they are out and about!

Slowly working on things, we had a couple ok days, I have been working on getting the Summer House finished so I can plop all the chicks and the mamas and babies in there.

Today I am not motivated to do anything though, too damp and chilly. I am about to check on the horses and see if they are ok, it's been raining really hard for a couple hrs now. And it doesn't look like it is going to stop any time soon. I will give it another hr and bring them inside early.

OK well it's way past lunch time I am going to head up to the house for some food!

Hello Marie! How are you? I was wondering where you were, hadn't heard from you in a few days. Is it raining there also?

Was looking at the News this morning and in London it was raining, not sure how far you are from there.

How is Tina's foot? Last you said it was better - has it remained so?
London is a good hundred plus miles away thankfully, it's not a place I would want to be near.

We were drenched here yesterday. The sun came out as the night started drawing in. So my animals were really fed up

Firstly, she is obviously going to be a black hen. She is going to be a big girl from her parentage. She may, may mind you have a few copper hackle markings. That really depends on if the marans is her mother or father. If she has a Marans mother with full hackle markings chances are good she will inherit some, less likely though if the Ameraucana is her mother. You will know if she is going to get hackle markings at about 7 weeks old. I cannot tell for sure from the new picture, but it looks like she is not going to have a beard or muffs, but then, so did Goose until she was almost 3 months old and they sprouted. Right now, I see her looking like Raven with lightly feathered legs as a adult.
So exciting!
I know I will love her whatever - but sounds like I should be looking for copper hackles and beard/muffs.
I need to get a close up of the clean-legged black one who is an Ameraucana.
