How do you have all these Shakespeare sleeping quotes?
Go to bed and ponder my question while sleeping and see if you have a answer when you wake up.
Sorry if I'm keeping you up
I am old and my head is full of useless information, like Shakespeare quotes and songs 😆. One day you will be old!

That must hurt. Spying on the chickens might make it feel better.
Ok you behave and have a good evening/night.

Whiskey started squawking by the house and I could hear another couple in similar sounds out by the coop. Went out to find out who/what ruffled feathers

After looking around a bit, I noticed this

Eventually birds circled higher and drifted off. Went town to check on those by the coop. All fine. On way back to the house, this started (mind you, the plan is for them to go into the freezer later today)View attachment 3496252

The spent some time separated by the bush, then headed back towards the coop, Kren pausing for a drink at the spigot tire.View attachment 3496271When they got back out where it started, they went at it again, this time taking it into the olive trees. I went inside to make brunch. Now they need time to settle down and flush the adrenaline out to avoid tasting gamey. Epic pics but confirmation that the freezer is the best place.
Yes, epic pictures! Thank you for sharing.

And Then There Were 6
I have tragic news everyone. We lost Betty today. While free ranging today she fell into the pool. I have no idea how or why. None of the chickens go anywhere near the pool and yet she fell in. Before Mrs BY Bob could get her out she passed away due to hypothermia. The water is still quite cold.

I buried her between the two Blueberry bushes that Hattie bought. I will post a tribute to her later this week but her is the last photo I ever took of her.

Yet another hen lost too soon. Mrs BY Bob is inconsolable. She blames herself of course and Betty was one of her special girls.

I myself feel as though I'm getting numb to the losses. I'm going to try and spend time with everyone who is left tomorrow morning. I need to try to reconnect with them.
Oh Bob, I’m so, so sorry!! :hit Poor sweet Betty. :hugs

The difference a few hrs and some amazing people on this thread can do.

Thank you to everyone for the support.

It was the umbilical I am 100% positive. Its been snipped with no further bleeding. The area has been thoroughly dabbed with Vetericyn and a bit of blue kote to help hide the spot from his siblings.

Baby is back with mama de-stressing from my fussing. I have hope the wee one will be just fine.

I however may need a strong drink 😂
🍸☕🍷Take your pick, you deserve it.

:hugs

I believe they are all girls but what do I know?!
The Legbars (Piglet and Winnie) and the Welbar (no name yet) should be Autosexing.
The breeder has experience of his chicks and believes both the black ones are also girls. But we will see.

Here is Winnie (the Pooh) also playing at being grown-up.
