I put guttering in already and it's useless.
But that eves is an excellent solution this could lead the water over onto the earth. I will show this to the carpenter if one shows up it won't be a perfect as yours but we can improvise

Thank you so much 💓
This standard has n every house that I know of, and I have seen images of this on homes over there also. It’s inexpensive and easy to install.

I am old and my head is full of useless information, like Shakespeare quotes and songs 😆. One day you will be old!
And the tax for this

Ok so wood chips/shavings are not appropriate for outdoor use, they will become sogged and moldy very fast.

Pea gravel (or even sand would be a better option), would be what I would put in there, small pea sized washed gravel - make sure it washed gravel so there are no small dirt particles which will hold water.

Water will always be a problem, no matter where one lives, another option would be to put a raised deck for them which would be costly - the gravel will be you most bang for your buck (or pound in your case!).
@Marie2020

Gutters are an excellent idea!

Also, I would like to second the suggestion for rock. I have been researching for the outside permitter of my coop and for my run. Here is the best idea I have seen this far: River rock/ pebbles and then construction grade sand to help secure keep it where you put it and give nice footing for your chickens. None of these materials will harm your chickens they also allow for drainage. As an added bonus top layer of sand can be sifted so keeping it clean should be fairly easy.

Thanks 😊 I'm frantically trying to sort this out.

I've just called to see if I can get a carpenter in. They are all busy and some too lazy to work.

The highest point of the roof should be dropping down
Five visits to this guy I explained that the drop should be on the door side

The slope looks fine.
Is the low edge the back or the front? Doesn’t really matter actually - just curious.
The main thing you need is a nice big gutter along the lower edge and for the down spout of that gutter to empty into a pipe or trough on the ground that will direct the water away from the run.
It isn’t that hard to do - you might be able to do it yourself and I am sure folk in this thread can talk you through it.
The most important thing is to look at the natural grade you have - meaning where is a natural downhill slope so you can direct the water to the top of that slope and let gravity remove it for you.
Some of your pictures show a nice slope down to the road. That would be a perfect place to direct the water. But if course the way of things will mean that it isn’t going to be that simple!
Don’t worry - you can fix this I am sure!

Where is the guttering? I didn’t see a gutter in your picture. An eaves trough is a type of gutter.
