I have no idea to any of these questions other than I believe it is not injured.
Then just give it a quiet place to rest, with some food and water...maybe throw a towel over the box so it feels safe, and let it be for a bit. It might be in shock. Or, it might have been hit and be hurt but not have broken bones??? Is your house warm? maybe give it a hot water bottle wrapped in a wash cloth or hand towel.

(you can make your own 'hot water bottle' by taking an empty soda bottle (individual size) or a Gatorade/Powerade bottle. Fill it to all but 1/2 cup full, squeeze bottle some, and cap tightly. Then put in microwave until very warm. Warm enough so feels hot to hand, but can hold it for a min. or two before it becomes uncomfortable. Wrap in a washcloth or pillow case or hand towel, and tuck it in near the bird. (but not between it and food/water, don't want to make it hard for the bird to eat/drink.)

You need a covered walkway! What has happened that they have exploded that much?
I am guessing mild winter.
Spray permethrin on your clothes but not your skin. It's very effective against ticks. You can find spray cans of permethrin in the camping section at Walmart or most sporting stores. I used it when bow hunting in hot weather and it worked well for me.
Better than DEET? I spray my boots, socks and pants with DEET (OFF Deep Woods I think it is called) and I wear permethrin infused cuffs on my long sleeve shirt.
Could you link to the permethrin product you use - I am on Amazon now looking for headgear.
This dropping out of the sky thing is a new issue - I need a wide brimmed hat with mosquito netting. Looking on Amazon now.
Please pass on any other tips - it really is raining ticks out there!

I believe my sister stuck it by a brooder plate in case it wants heat. I'll make sure the bird has food and water.

Why not use a beekeeping suit?
I do not have bees but that might work. Or a umbrella.

We have ticks here like crazy, the big regular ones and the tiniest tiny deer ticks too. Permethrin is the only thing I have found to be effective. It works better then OFF and it doesn’t smell nearly as horrid.
I have permethrin dust for the chickens but I didn't know there was a spray. Shopping for it now!

That is acceptable.

But she is watching you........

Let us all agree now, Raven NEVER needs to get aspirations for royalty. That thought is as scary as it was when the "Iron Beak" was with us and @BY Bob dreaded the day Aurora ascended the thrown. Nope, never can happen, Butter, choose a different heir apparent.

TSC carries liquid permethrin that you mix up. You could designate a spray bottle to it. Last year I had mites in one of the coops and got some and mixed it up and used that. My spray bottle is marked with a sharpie that says Permethrin so it never gets accidentally used for something else. (Same as the 1 qt. spray bottle I use for White Vinegar for cleaning - clearly labeled!)
