Hi Thing! Nice to see you out and about.
She didn't want to leave the coop this morning through the chicken door. (Wanted the big door, I think). I gently pushed her out. She tried turning around and coming right back in. Rinse and repeat. Finally shut the door in her face. She bolted. I went out the open big door. Now I could see why: running away from Hector's attentions. She got away from him too. Good girl. Bird door is reopened. Everyone is out eating breakfast. Having to break habits made while dingalings were here (hiding in the coop). Lots of food out: grass, dandelions, bugs... go be a chicken and find it. Lounge in the sun. Dust bath. Scratch in the dirt (and file those nails down). Have a few needing that.

Ah-ha! Nellie was bathing.

Another bath

Wild drink. Good, Pear. Time to stop hiding from the boys (there's not as many of them)

Courtship: ladies, I have a good nest site, come check it out! (Ignored)

What'cha doing?

You'll see.

I have said some careless words and lack of empathy and compassion for others feelings at times. Recently, I told my friend that she should get a quantity discount for all the relatives who are buried in a cemetery. I felt bad after saying it, but rectified the situation this morning (by sharing my feelings with her)
I need to be more quick to apologize, and sometimes quicker to say nothing at all.
Spill out my heart TAX:

Love the commentary - and yep I know what you mean by breaking bad habits.

That Dove looks hopeful - I have a pair or Orioles here - so pretty! Tried to grab a photo of the male but I wasn't fast enough. Saw the female yesterday she was gathering nesting material from the Roost Run - lots of feathers and hay and shavings in there.
