Walked the paddock to check the weed situation, I definitely will need to get out there this week and stay for the buttercup, golden rod, and thistle that is growing like weeds (teeheeheee pun intended!).

The paddock is just soggy from the rain, hopefully by Tuesday it will be a wee bit drier.

Lulu - might take her for spin later today, she prefers this paddock - it’s got all the white clover growing in there - need to spray for that also.

Penne - pullet? Cockerel?

Ok so I am going back and forth with Penne as to cockerel or pullet; 3 weeks now.

Thanks Yes she and Whiskers are a nice soft colour, and they are good tempered also. And lay nice coloured eggs

Still looks pullet. That can change, but at the moment, no comb growing like that darling tween, Rico. That natural Mohawk he's sporting!


I'm seeing 5 toes on Penne. Who's egg is she from again?

Today was a very special day for me, I got two new chickens, and drove 4 hours for them but it was all worth it
they are of course still very shy and living in our quarantine coop for a couple of weeks. The last time I bought two chickens it unfortunately wasn’t a very nice experience but these chickens already seem to be healthy and come from a good place

The little chicks are also enjoying the lovely weather we have been having lately

They have also said hello to the flock and their daddy who surprisingly was very interested in them

You should check your spelling. It’s Cappy, not crappy! Or is there an issue?

The dark pullet has some gorgeous penciling on her! Can we see more pics of the rest of your birds? Love seeing roos tidbit, especially when being daddy.
