I was going to go for ride, but need to mow the grass again! Ugh, riding in circles on a bumpy lawn tractor, and I am fighting a migraine today, but mow the grass I must. The chickens stand and look at me - they are not at all bothered by my riding the lawn tractor, I am sure they are thinking what a good slave I am 😊

Look who’s come to sit with me while I eat a late lunch.

“What a good slave she is, for chopping all those worms in half for us!” :jumpy

Yes, all of our local shows cater to gaited horses. You will see Standardbreds, Tennessee Walking Horses and Kentucky or Rocky Mountain horses mainly. Every now and then you can spot a Saddlebred. Rarely do you find Quarter horses or true Paint horses. If they are there they are entered in the go as you please classes where they do not require a specific gait, or begging riders classes with children. Oh and ponies, the kids show those ponies and they are adorable. Russ has other ideas about miniature ponies, they are going to eat him and does not like them.
Hahaha

When Truly first saw the mini where I boarded them she didn’t know what to think! And then those long eared minis that made the funny noise! Oh they were going to murder her! And the Llamas! Well holy cow her eyes were like saucers hahaha.

Then she came home here and I got chickens. She gave me that look of “now what are doing, what are those creatures?”.

Poor Truly, she really is a nutter, sometimes I feel like putting her on Prozac 😁

Probably a dumb question, but why do you need to mow the grass? I mean why can’t it just be left alone to grow.

Growing up fast

Just sitting here eating lunch, the Tweens left me and next I hear chuk chuk chuk chuk chuk and I thought what is that?

OMG it’s Rico calling his sisters and tidbitting to them! He is 5.5 weeks old. What on earth?! I have never heard of such things.
Means he's been watching his Daddy and learning to be a GOOOOOD boy! At the moment, he's a keeper.

Mugs Monday

A cool and windy start to the day here, but everyone is full on outside digging scratching and getting into trouble 😁

First off some mugs

And that Penne loves flying up into the Spruce trees benches, the Tweens were about 5’ up there yesterday- tried to entice them up there just now but the dirt was more interesting.

The poor silkie babies can only look longingly up at her 😆

The Tweens are bopping and hopping on the roost with the big ladies.

Wonderful photos of very happy chickens, love it!!

The neighbor who complained about Jabber has moved since but I do have new neighbors and I do not know what their perspective might be.
Good to know the ones that complained are gone. I will hope the new ones don't mind to much and go back to being fascinated at the behavior and wondering if its just random or something triggers them into taking a more roosterish role in the flock.

Well ended up calling an ambo to take me to the hospital all day Started getting tired and hallucinating so I end up having a minor concussion, but dont know why I passed out, Zeus said hello when I got home the silkies are quiet today,. Usually clyde talks alot and cocoricos lol like a squeaky toy.

Am I understanding right, they didn’t keep you in the hospital?

How did Mrs Clean-egg get Peronitis??
Today she wasn't herself, just sitting in the corner doing nothing. Both she and I knew it was her time, but I don't have the gut to do the processing so I called my friend that obviously has a stronger gut. The worst part was that I had to hold her legs while my friend processed.

Anyway, I had come across @ManueB's thread about her hen Caramel, that from what I believe died of peronitis as well. So when I saw that burst yolk ALL over her insides, I knew.
She had a LOT of water inside her, and those burst yolks. Little to no feed in her crop.
