Did someone say assertive?

I bet you all thought this would be Aurora! 😆

How many of you remember that when she first arrived the first thing Phyllis did was to take on Aurora, TWICE!

She also fought Sydney and Sansa. She lost every fight but she was assertive!
She is a ballsy lady ❤️ Just love her to bits 😊

Now I’m really worried about Eli. This is where she is choosing to spend the night.
I don’t get it as she has been perching fine on my arm and on the branches during the day.
I wonder if she lost confidence before she went broody.

She's almost acting as if she has chicks (without the buk buk) and is contemplating weaning them.🤔

the splash birds (all the yellow) could come from your splash lady OR your blue (grey) ladies. The splash crossed with Mr P's splash will always be splash. The blue ladies have a black AND a splash gene that turns the black to blue. As such, they could have produced the blue (grey) or splash babies. The blue babies could have come from the blue OR black ladies (blue ladies getting Mr P's other color or black ladies getting mr P's splash color). The black babies had to have gotten the OTHER coloring (Penne, Rico, and Tippy included) Mr P has, the blonde, non-splash. Otherwise they could NOT be black. Their mothers could be the grey ladies (getting the black gene) or any of the NON splash ladies.

I know you know who's eggs Penne, Tippy, and Rico came from, but as the other lot lost track of which egg each chick came from, it should simplify the process a bit.

Combs: any with obvious straight comb are probably from Penelope. Otherwise, have to wait on comb development and hope it helps ID the moms.

Leakage: any color leakage that comes through as they get their adult feathers (@12 weeks) can also help ID the moms.
I have identified one with 5 toes so a definite Penelope kid 😊 that is the only problem be I am 100 percent sure of 😁

I wish I had taken a picture of the eggs I put into the egg crate.

Tomorrow I will give them all a once over checking for more toes, and combs. It would be nice if the Penelope kiddo was a pullet.

Ok thanks for the input and was wondering about the splash chicks.

She seems to be thinking about not being broody, to me. Wanting to stay near the nest rather than too far away.

Thoughts?

This was my thought as well. She looks like Brownie after they started hatching, she was raised up a bit like that. Perhaps she is simply getting close to giving up? I hope that is all it is.🤞
I hope that is what it is.
I am on a mission to tempt her to eat so will be trying lots of yummy stuff tomorrow. She feels thin.
