Yah, I forgot about those

The pinky fleshy stuff is normal intestinal shedding - apparently chickens do that.

Do you think she is getting ready to molt? A few of mine look really poorly, stop eating and get liquid poops.
No I don't think it's related to molting.

Tina seems slightly better today. We decided no antibiotics for now because we really hate using it.

Penelope - not sure on her breeding, but I would say 'Americana' - she lays pale blue eggs.

Mr P only has the normal 4 toes.
I don't know if @rural mouse already responded to this - I'm almost 100 pages behind, and surely won't be able to fully catch up this weekend - so I'm risking it.

I suspect that Penelope is a mix of a silkie and an Ameraucauna (in reality, probably an EE as true Ameraucaunas are somewhat expensive and don't come from the big hatcheries - rather from smaller hatcheries and from breeders. (I have bought a few supposed Ameraucaunas' from a hatchery, but in reality they were EEs some laid blue eggs, but some laid a soft green egg. They spelled it 'Americauna')

I suspect this mix because she has the silkie tuft (head) and the toes, and often (from what I have read on here from the likes of @RebeccaBoyd - not through any personal investigations nor scientific research on genetics or anything!) She would be the 'satin feathered' - i.e. more regular feathering like Twig.

Now I'm a bit curious, and will have to do some research on this - when my class is over and things die down a bit for me!

I don’t really know what she will look like when she is grown, but Sylvie is pumping out feathers and looking very pretty.

Hmmm, looks like you have an engineer in the making - she seems quite intrigued by how her pen is put together...better not forget and leave a screwdriver behind in the Palace - she just might take the brooder pen apart in her investigations!

And we ALL know how the reassemble goes when inexperienced ones put things back together! :

Look, I did it - see, all back like it should be!

What are these part here?

Oh, those, those were just extras.

But, weren't they IN it before you took it apart?

Oh, yeah, but we don't need them, not really. They are just extra.

(all of a sudden, a strange creaking is heard....

Then a huge cloud of dust explodes amid a loud crashing sound.

Hmmm, 'extra', huh?

She just shrugs and nonchalantly flits away (screw-driver carefully hidden under her wing so mum doesn't take it away)...thinking "I'm going to have to try that again, gotta figure out where I went wrong........."
